is intel 4600 still capable of running ESO?

Started having crashes on startup, tried everything (repair, update drivers, run as admin on both clients etc etc). Emailed support, they're telling me "since the thieves guild update" there have been changes to the minimum reqs and intel 4600 no longer meets them.

The thing is, I was able to play after the thieves guild update (something I told support, though they never responded to it). And the new minimum reqs for graphics are a DX11 compatible card with 1g ram (correct?). I'm confused because the 4600's total available graphics memory is 1.8g. It's "dedicated" displays as 128mb in my graphics display adapter info, but this didn't seem to matter when the minimum was 512mb. It's also compatible with DX 11.1. So as far as I can see, this meets the minimum.

Anyone have any ideas? Any others running intel 4600's with similar problems?

Do you have an option to set how much ram is allocated in the BIOS to the graphics? Can you increase it to 1 GB?

Thanks for the quick response! Sorry for the delay, I didn't think anyone would get back to me so quickly.

I can't :( My laptop doesn't have the option in its BIOS.

Isn't it true that the card can use up to 1.8g as long as its available? Or do I have to set it's "dedicated" memory to 1g in order for it to use that much?

You mean HD 4600? Like integrated? I got this one on my CPU. Although I don't use it, when I had my dedicated GPU for tests in a lab, I could run ESO. It looked ugly (for the highest you can only run it on is medium settings) but it worked.
So... If you're desperate to play ESO, go ahead. I couldn't bear it long term though.

Ok here is an idea. Do you have steam and another computer that does have a video card? You could steam it from the pc with the video card to your laptop maybe?

or you could try this submitting a ticket to the support team and include your game consultant information. Maybe they will respond. If they do please post here what they tell you.

Ok so now, over a year later, after buying ESO on ps4, playing off and on for a while, and just recently buying a new computer in order to play ESO on pc again, I decided to try and run it on my laptop with the 4600...and it works again. Just an FYI, I did contact support and they just told me that after the Thieves Guild update the 4600 was no longer capable or running it.

So, for anyone else who happens to have a similar issue...ESO does seem to run on an intel HD 4600. I'm now considering returning this new comp...
