Sorry, have to vent.
Signed up for a random dungeon to get the daily reward.
I'm a healer, so I'm one second of a wait time - I go into Selene's Web to find they are almost at the last boss, no worries - I thought, I'll run to them and help them even though I don't have the quest on this char.

I mount up and run as quick as I can to them - I am halfway there when they kick me.

Ugh. Ok. Fine. Apparently running full speed is not fast enough.
I sigh and wait the blasted 17+ mins of wait time.

Got one - I click yes and they literally kick me before my char has a chance to travel to player.

I'm annoyed but I figure they want a higher level. (38 on this char)
I grumble about the added 17+ minutes...

I sign up again and boom! Selene's Web - the same people are STILL looking for a healer and kick me immediately. *FacePalm*

At this point I have to log out and rant.
I'm fine with being kicked, it happens - but the wait time is grinding my gears.
Over half an hour wait time.
I can't imagine if I was DPS and had trouble finding a group on top of the wait time.

Can Zos change this wait time Malarky?

    I think I'm also angry because if they are making assumptions based on level - true, I don't have the champion points. (And I'm really feeling it - annoyed I was 180+CP on my boyfriend's account!)

    I'm wearing my Magnus and Seducer sets, I'm using one of Deltia's builds.
    I have all grand soul gems, I'm eating food before we start...(Grrr, just realised I wasted my food.)
    I'm ready with buffs, healing and a little bit of damage thrown in.
    I have shards for the Tank and DPS to utilise and Repentance for lovely free health and stamina!

    I wasn't getting rewards when I was queued with my Tank friend.
    He would get them and I wouldn't so I had to go in separately. :(
    Hopefully they fix that "No rewards of already grouped" bug and I can grind through dungeons quickly and get back my lovely CP!

    You can't help idiots wanting a carry (the fact that they needed replacements for the last boss of Selenes is worrying), what should be changed is getting a 15 minute timer. We had people abuse the system before, but now it just gets used to troll and punish others.

    I'm with you, OP. Either the timer needs to go, or leaving a group is the only way to get the penalty.

    Sadly I find that kicking people is becoming far more prevalent than it was say 6 months ago.
    I did 3 dungeons today both daily pledges and a random, 2 out of 3 of those dungeons someone voted to kick a low level. The vet dungeon had 3 531 cp toons and the low level was 49 cp I think. The 49 had a vote started before even given a chance, I voted no and we still finished the dungeon in under 20 mins with the cp 49 just fine. The other was a vote to kick a cp 101 sorc healer in Selene's web in that one I think I was the only one above cp 400, again voted no and we steam rolled it with 0 deaths.
    It's honestly a little sad that people are trying to kick people without giving them a chance, I find most people are more than capable of doing dungeons even in the "dreaded" pug groups. The only problem I ever encounter and would ever kick someone for is a false role que where that role is actually needed in a pug.
    (Not to say I don't like 4dd dungeon runs but preform those don't use dungeon finder...)

    I would agree with only getting the timer if you choose to leave/abandon.
    It gives you 15 minutes to fix your armour, and cool down (emotionally) after dealing with Tanks who don't tank or DPS who rush in before the Tank/Don't kill adds.

    Another pet peeve are the groups who disband before you even have a chance to respond.

    Don't punish us because the leader decided to log off just as we got a group!

    I know this comment is beside your point, but: why not ask for a group in zone-chat instead of using the grouping tool? As a healer especially you should have no problem finding a group within acceptable time this way.

    On topic: it's ridiculous how prejudiced people are towards lower level players. The scaling is amazing. I remember when I was a lvl 32 mag sorc and got scaled up to 30k health being a DPS (with all attributes and enchants into magicka). I literally outsustained cp300+ players and finished off bosses while 2 or three fellow members were dead.
    Now that I actually am cp160+ on this character I am stuck with a meagre 19k health, like every vet DPS. :wink:
    Just some thoughts on why lower level players aren't necessarily bad, especially when they have their build sorted.

    Exactly. The timer is punishing the wrong group of people at the moment.

    I agree with giving people a chance.
    Even on the first go, if DPS Rush in, or if they are taunting instead of the tank, just message them to let them know.

    I also like to be in Voice Chat so we can all communicate quickly.
    People can tell me when they need Shards or Repentence.
    We can quickly say "AOE, let's group and crush or attack the one with the lowest health" etc.

    More people need to go into voice chat!

    For a pledge this is fine, but you need to queue to get the huge XP daily reward or the soul gems/gear associated with it.

    Sadly, we encounter a bug where I don't get daily rewards if I'm grouped before entering a queue.

    We tested this a few times, so I have to do a PUG to get the reward. :(

    Once they fix it though, hopefully soon, then I can go in with my Tank Buddy.

    Yes, I do daily random dungeons every day. I always search for groups in zone chat for this (I am DD). What I always do is post something like: 'LF3M DD, Heal, Tank random normal/vet' instead of 'DD LFG random dungeon'. For some reason it works much quicker when you initiate the group. I usually have a group set up within 10 minutes and then it's a simple click of a button to queue us up and travel there. During work days this is especially useful, cause it allows me to cram a silver pledge, random dungeon and two daily zone quests into 1,5 hours.
    Just my experience regarding finding groups and the time it takes. I rarely use the group finder tool, so I might be poorly informed about that topic. :neutral:

    Very true. I ran white gold this morning on my healer after three failed attempts with random high cp people yesterday, once because of people that kept disconnecting at Molag Kena and twice with a dps that didn't know what to do and messed up during the inhibitor and not communicating either or blaming each other so groups kept falling apart.

    This morning I decided to give it another go before the new pledge and got in a group with a 180cp tank and a 170cp dps (who was wearing full heavy armor with dual wield + destro and almost all points into stam, talk about a bad setup...) and a 500cp dps. I asked them if they knew what to do and they said yes, we got to the inhibitor and we fail because it cp170 dps didn't know what to do, but even though he didn't know, he at least was taking advice. Unfortunately it wasn't easy on them, with their dps coming mostly from one of them, so we wiped a few times (kept getting closer though) which made high level cp guy who didn't communicate leave. Then we got a good dps in return, running all the way to us, not blaming anyone for mistakes and able to have a laugh. We get through first time with him.

    So out of all the runs, only the one with the "worst" possible combination and lowest total CP actually completed it because everyone was patient and working together. Got a Kena divines helm which I already had so gave it to the guy with the hybrid build, hoping it will inspire him to get his build sorted.

    I made one of my best group partners through a random PUG.
    He was the only one on chat when I suggested we all hit just the one giant Thunderbug at a time. (Gladiator style dungeon I can't remember the name of).

    We are an awesome team and I'm very glad to have met him, brilliant tank who communicates well.
    "Shards in 5 secs..." "Coming atcha!"
    "Repentance!" "Gotcha!"

    Me: "Agh! They're on me!"
    Him: "I got you." *Taunts all the adds*

    Brilliant.

    Unfortunately it was him who told me I could use my own profile and not have to play on the boyfriend's...

    Now I'm all the way back to being a lvl 38 healer on my own account and trying to grind my way back up to CP levels. :neutral:

    The forum community asked for the timer and they got what they wanted, i blame the forum community for this not zos.

    I should not get punished for leaving a group or getting kicked, i also hate playing with low levels who play hard vet dungeons like vWGT vICP etc. i simply tell them this is a hard dungeon and i need experienced players, i then kick them and give them 5k gold but they should not be punished.

    I have been having plenty of group disbands just as I get into a group and have to pay the penalty.

    I am also being kicked when I get 'jump failed...instance full' and I obviously am taking too long to get there. I am assuming it is this because not many groups half way through a dungeon are going to kick a 531cp healer or tank if they are struggling. I then have to pay another 15 minute penalty.

    Most people don't go into chat and I have to choose to either keep trying to reach them or stop and type a message to the group (not quick as I am on console). If I have not chosen to leave a group I should not get penalized.

    I do like that you say/type that it's a hard dungeon before you kick, BruItsover9000!
    Being kicked without warning is rude and leaves people questioning why.

    Especially - is it Imperial Prison? Yeah, I'm good at lock picking, I never force locks, but under that kind of pressure while trying to heal at the same time...maddening! I'm pointing points into Force Lock for when I get in there again.
    (Also, need fire resist.)

    (We've found it useful to number the cages - "I'm in 2 - on the left!"
    and I'll heal while they pick the lock.

    Communication is the key, folks!

    Asking ZOS for something to be added to the game is like asking a Djin. You will get what you asked for sometimes, but beware the consequences. In this case, a timer was asked because people jumped groups until they found the "perfect" group. I'm sure fixing the timer that penalizes group members getting kicked instead of those who leave the group for no reason is on ZOS's big list of fixes.

    That's why I think we should only have a cool down period if we choose to leave a group, not for getting kicked.

    Of course, I can see the other side of it too, if they take away the waiting time - it means that people who are kicked for being rude or obnoxious get to do it all over to another group asap...

    I understand your pain...

    I have a 260CP healer and I've manage to complete all Vet Dungeons. I won't be able to carry a bad group, but I can definitely heal a medium one and maybe even do a no death run with a very good group with high DPS.

    But what you described keeps happening to me. As a Healer (XBOX NA), about half the time I group, people are halfway through the dungeon or already at the last boss.

    I don't mind. I always rush to them to finish the content.

    But lately it is as you described: people just kick you out. Sometimes I get placed in the same group 2 or 3 times in a row after the timer finishes, and they keep kicking my out.

    It is definitely getting better as I get more CP to "impress" some groups, but it is very annoying.

    And it was made much, much, much, much worse with this new AF timer... It should apply only to players who disband or leave the group. Not to players who gets kicked for no reason.
