Another "lets make the crown boxes more bearable" idea

What would happen if the RND objects from boxes wouldn't be possible to salvage, but trade with others?
At first I was against it, but then I realised, that the main problem with boxes is that: PvP players want the beverages, RP players want the ordinary cosmetics and casuals want the high priced mounts, so none is happy about it really.
If it would be possible to trade, it would give the players the possibility to earn in-game money - that is the worst what could happen, so no abuse? but it would also give them reason to buy another one if they wouldn't get what they wanted - they can still sell it instead of limited offer of a bunch of cosmetics they may not want anyway - + for marketing department. So it would actually be a bit more complicated way of buying in-game money for real money?

Also after all the BoP issues, atleast that would be something to trade at guild traders, they would be empty otherwise quite soon :p

in other games it does work - buying things for real money and sell it to get in-game money - it is based on it - like in Guild Wars, so by combining that market feature with hated crown boxes, it could change it to even better working system of buying crowns for some other reason, than "crown store 4 days specials"?

Don't compromise or settle, these crates are cancer.

Wrong. Nobody wants potions, poisons, food and drinks (other consumables can sometimes be useful, e.g. for leveling alts). People of all playstyles want costumes, pets and mounts.

But generally you're right, trading items would make crown crates a little more palatable.

^This. Player-crafted consumables are more potent, and even if they were equal in power I doubt there are many who would rather spend real money on something they're going to burn through quickly when they could spend in-game gold instead. Or make it for free if they're a crafter themselves.
