Suggestion regarding Guild Trader Bidding

So when a Guild doesn't win the Guild Trader they get mail saying "try bidding higher or bid on a different Guild Trader". This is honestly more rude than helpful as it is obvious you have to do better to get a trader. So instead of getting a message as useful as a death recap tooltip how about that mail let you know how many guilds outbid you? This way you have a better idea of how much more you need to bid to win or if a different Trader would be better.

Yeah but then when you see you lost to a 1m bid next week you go in at 1m and 1 whereas now as you don't know the winning bid was 1m you go in at 1.5m which is a better gold sink

Or you simply raise your bid some and it STILL isn't enough and you just don't know exactly HOW much these people are bidding and so you keep losing. Besides, what makes you think the previous winner won't raise THEIR bid in order to compete? If anything, showing the winning build will actually create a BIGGER gold sink gradually.

Zos should change that letter to just inform the guild they lost if the message gets people upset.

But no one letting them know how much the winning bid was. Alt guilds could then use it to probe bid sizes and start outbidding whoever they want easily.

Letting people know the winning bid kind of defeats the purpose of Blind Bids. At least in this format.

The message is mocking but frankly it's not like that sort of shady stuff isn't already happening. It won't really change how much guilds have to bid but if it did they'd probably end up bidding MORE over time. A flawed concept for sure with that in the open but for those that approve of more gold sinks they wouldn't mind.

I'd say not knowing the current bids is plenty good enough.

They don't show the bids to avoid the deluge of BS that would accompany it. As soon as a small time guild saw a number they didn't think was legit. They'd mass report and ZOS would have to sort it out. Then it also hinders market manipulation.

Your making a huge assumption and a false assumption If your saying your suggestion wouldn't change change how much guilds have to bid and you seem to even acknowledge that.

It's doesn't matter how much spies work as that's a separate issue. Why make it easier for them, why make it easier to spy on other guilds bidding?

I say absolutly no to the suggestion. Bad for the community.

I acknowledge a potential incline in what people end up paying for Guild Traders if the winning bid is known, and for that I will edit my suggestion.

At this point i'd settle for hiding guild bids from the members so we don't have to worry about people spying the bid amounts anymore.

We've only been asking for it for 3 years ...
