Really though. Zenimax should ban you guys. I really wish you guys could just disappear from the game because you are just making trading and commerce a sad experience for all of the US Megaserver.

@ZOS_GinaBruno can you guys please do something about trading? The state of trading and mercantile is real bad right now and has been for sometime.

Seriously trading guilds making multiple versions just to manipulate market prices are getting out of hand. ZOS needs to introduce some market price control.

    What are they doing ?

They pretty much exist to be a "trade cartel" along with a parent guild. However, unlike other "trade cartels" such as ESE and Etheral Traders, their sole goal appears to be gouging the prices of items to create inflation and skewing the data the addons like Master Merchant collect. As it is, I think Tempering Alloys have skyrocketed to about 8-8.5k in the last week alone which is bleeding through nearly every guild out there. Columbine was sitting about 350-400g a piece until a few weeks ago when it suddenly shot up to 550-700g a piece. Though them doing this is actually causing me and my guild to have good business mainly because we tend to stick to the firmer set prices, and I tend to sell below the price MM gives me meaning my stuff sells a lot faster in a location that doesn't have nearly the same amount of traffic as somewhere like Mournhold and Rawl'kha have.

So this is why I am so depressed at the market prices on gold mats . I thought they went way up but then seen the same every where . That's asking too much . I just decided to do writs and get my own . Some friends are helping too . Who ever thought that was a good business deal is probably losing business not gaining .

Please pm me where your kiosk is so I can give business to a more reasonable guild .

I remember when that guild was first getting started, and checked their vendor pretty frequently cause they had some good stuff.

    no more

after this week and that dumb "angry unicorn too" crap I don't check any of the guilds.

ESE, ETU, even Akaviri back in the day. all the secondary and tertiary guilds are/were legitimate guilds placed in the various alliances so members could sell in every alliance.

not this troll extra guild with no/few items taking up spots and controlling the market.

This is why I don't like a free market economy. It is in a sense is a pure capitalism at it's core. And what ends up doing is esentually creating a real life situation where the rich and powerful become even more, while the poor and weak become even less. Those who have an unknown number of hours to play the game can easily profit from it, while those who don't have time to play are left to scrape by just to play catchup with all the gear that comes out. It is also in markets like this that really increase the cases of Real World Trading, where individuals will buy in game currency with real life money.

There needs to be more restrictions in the economy of this game. Not full restrictions where the game or the developers say how much something is going to cost. But have a system that esentually lists average prices of items. Another mmorpg does this, called Runescape. They're system shows players the average cost of items based on their supply and demand in the market. The game itself actually evaluates these prices. Then those who are selling will place their items around that price, and those who are buying well know what is or isn't a good deal. Now this still can be manipulated by Trading Cartels, but the time it takes to do such a thing takes longer. As in where Tempering alloy can go from 10k to 20k in a week with the current trade economy, it could take several weeks for that to happen.

But really what makes the economy so bad is the time it takes to look for items. Say for example I want to look for a Purple Ring of Endurance, Robust that is CP 160. I will have to go to a guild trader, set the search results to "Apperal, Ring. Robust trait CP 160, Purple (I think it's called Epic)" and hit submit. But what could end up happening is that I will get 2 pages of nothing but purple 160 robust rings. I will have to go through each page till I see a ring and look to see how much it costs. Of which can take several minutes. But that's not all, I only did that for one trader. I still have 5 more to look through. Which takes even more time. What there really needs to be is an option where you can type in key words to search for the item. Say as in I type in "Ring of Endurance", when I hit submit only that item will show up in the list.

Those guys need to go take some refresher courses in math . If I need to upgrade a good weapon and I'm not a crafter it takes about 10 gold mats to upgrade a weapon . If they are selling gold mats at 10k then that's 100k for a upgrade . Only a fool would waste his gold this way when that weapon is probably being sold already at gold for around 50k . A few more searches and you save 50k .

A trade union only works if you can beat your competition , not false inflate market prices . Any bozo that took a 8th grade economics class knows this .

Yeah, the guild went downhill pretty quickly after the founder left. I was in there initially but left soon after as nothing I had was selling and they couldn't hold a location at the time which was detrimental when they had a "10k sales" minimum. I think most of the people I joined with left and joined another guild which was quite prominent and established.

It's not a matter of math or intellegence, but convenence. (I spelt that wrong). What I mean is that it is much quicker and easier to search up gold materials then a specific Champion Point sword with a specific trait to a specific set. For example: It is easier to get 8 gold mats (if you have maxed skill that reduces amount needded), then to look for a Gold Campion Point 160 Sharpend Fury Sword. Or even more so for harder to find items like the Lich sets that are very rare and hard to get.

In a way, yes it is. Humans are always fighting to be better then the next. This is just one way for them to do so, to have power and money. Although in a video game, it is still a form of competition that those who engage in it are trying to be better then the other. Same example for PvPers when they try to be better then everyone else and gloats about it.

I could go into this with more detail to where it will make more sense. However that will take a great deal of time to type it all out.

We get it. The XB1 economy is stuffed entirely. Just keep in mind that we have tools to see the average price is where you don't and when something suddenly goes up with no real reason to have done so, it's usually traceable. Also, PC players tend to have more gold because our economies are far more stable than the console ones but nevertheless, 8.5k for tempering alloys is ridiculous at this stage of the game. First few months after guild traders were introduced maybe it would be understandable but not 2 years later. If anything they should be around the 5-7k mark

That's absolutely ridiculous. Completely ridiculous. But, ZOS has themselves to blame for: Allowing PC to console transferring, exploits to go unchecked and unresolved for prolonged periods of time, and not setting a form of appropriate restrictions on pricing. PS4-NA isn't too far behind, with tempering alloys selling for 16k-18k in traders. While in-person they go for 13k-14k.

I really hope ZOS steps in, and immediately. This has gone on for far too long.

The economy will correct itself on its own. If you're seeing alloys going for 13-14k in zone when they go for 16-18k at traders it is already on its way to fixing it. Eventually the guild traders will need to drop prices to compete with the zone traders. Happened on PC a while back as well and then it levelled out so there wasn't much of a difference between zone traders and guild traders

This thread will be closed shortly, I'm sure, but I can't just pass without making the obvious statement:

Prices go up because of SUPPLY and DEMAND. There are way too many guilds and individuals that can post in those guilds / sell in zone chat for any type of 'cartel price manipulation' to happen. No one buying at higher prices is ever happy about such, but this is a free market and when supply is short and demand is high, prices WILL rise.

It's fun to make conspiracy theories, but use some logic and realize that no GM is telling 499 other people what to price their wares.I'm quite confident that if any GM tried such, that the outburst would make it to the forums and/or reddit with some hilarious details.
