Hi there, 1st off I wanna thank support for helping me get onto the forum. (Old password issue)

On to the matter of hand.

Is the arena bugged in terms of the weapon reward at the end?

Here's my total reward runs.

2 frost staff.
2 sword and shield
1 two handed sword
1 axe
1 resto staff
8 bows...

Most of the bow drops was one after the other, why is the same weapon dropping over and over or more then others? I know usually there's complaints about the traits we get being poor or not getting the weapon of your choice but my complaint is I keep getting the same weapon over an over or too frequently.

I even watched a guy stream an he's 2 runs was both bow too.

I'm only cp 382, I started completing it at 310, so as you can imagine it's not going as fast as the 500+ guys (soon for me hopefully) so you could understand my frustration of being in there quite some time to keep getting the same weapon so many times.

Is there a trick? Is the loot chance bugged for a specific weapon?

While i was fixing my joining the forum issue with a very nice helpful staff member I thought while I'm at it il throw in and ask them, they said it's the RNG, my 1st thought there's no way that's randomly generated, it's the same number too many times lol, then they went on to say try a guild store to seek the weapon you are after.... So I just said thanks for the help lol (didn't wanna be rude as they were so helpful previous)


Anyway... What is up with it?

    Well you are lucky with bow drops, i am now at sword and shield rampage :/.

    I feel I your pain.

    It just doesn't make sense why 1 weapon should have a higher drop chance then another, it should be completely random across the board, if anything what they should do if they wanted to give a weapon a slighter increase to others then make it dw seeing as you need 2 of them.

    But even then that shouldn't be the case an it should be completely random.

    It is completely random. That is how you ended up with 8 bows. True randomness is streaky and those streaks trick people into thinking it is not random. Ever notice how roulette tables at casinos list like the last 20 numbers that came out? Do you think that is so the casino can help people win? No, it is because people will see that the number "10" came out a bunch of times and think, "Oh! 10 has better odds than all the other numbers. I'll play that!" Nope.

    Another example. There are six sides to a die. Go roll a die 12 times. Will each number come out exactly twice? No. 3 might come out 4 times and 5 might not come out at all. Over millions of rolls, each number will come out really, really close to 1/6th of the time. But in a small sample size, things can get streaky.

    I sort of get what you are saying, however, I forgot to mention out of my 8 bows 5 of them was in a row.

    we have 4 staffs, 3 dw 1handers, 1 sword and shield, 1 bow, and 3 two handers, and considering my experience that is some weird odds/randomness seeing what is in the loot table altogether.

    I got lucky and got a sharpened maul couple days ago. But I do have a abundance of Bows. I'm sure it's not a pure RNG system since 1/2 my weapons are decisive. That's way against randomn chance given possible drops, I would like to see the actual loot table and drop % for each weapon and traits. It's obviously got a much higher % chance toward the junk traits .

    Not bugged, just typical maelstrom. I've deconned more bows than I care to talk about (and the bulk of them were back to back).

    Before it was 100% drop rate, I could go ten crappy permafrost rings in a row, then four resto staves in a row. The good news is that you should be all set to make an archer haha.

    You may be onto something. Since the SotH update, my VMA final chest weapons have had the nirnhoned trait quite often. As that is currently what pops up the most. Previous to that, it was defending which showed up frequently. Hm... I wonder if there are indeed patterns.

    Completed vMA hundreds of times, using nearly every character/class combo and have never had a single Sharpened weapon drop from the final chest.
    I suscribe.
    My friend who owns the orsinium dlc and does not subscribe literally gets a Sharpened weapon every other run.
    Coincidence? Or just plain broken, who knows.

    The more I read about this "chore", the more I understand why I never set a foot in this place and never will despite as beeing a dédicated pvper I d really need those weapons

    don't worry, I got 15 shields and not a single useful weapon for my magicka DDs :)
