Crushing shock to interupt the boss before he casts the skull

Build up lots of overload, nuke the boss to 70% asap so he leaves you alone then overload the crematorial guard as well, the healer can either be runecaged or overloaded as well for good measure, keep power surge and ward up and liquid lightning on the boss and crem guard

When the croc spawn ignore everything else except for boss skull (healer is weak af) and kill it with overload fast. You can see his portal when he spawns, back off fast, buff up and overload him.

Nuke the boss to 70% with overload, then you'll only have the crem to deal with on it's own. Either shield through the fire, or rotate around him to avoid it

I've defeated the last boss a couple of times on my Mag-Sorc and do it like this:
    • Take Power sigil as soon as boss spawns.
    • Cast AoEs (Blockake and Lightning) on boss and DPS him.
    • When he teleports get ready to interrupt him (Crushing Shock is great here as you can do it at range). Note that if he casts his AoE instead he will have to be interrupted in the next 20 seconds.
    • Sometimes I Rune Prison the healer when she spawns but this is tricky as it usually happens exactly when the boss needs to be interrupted and seconds before the guard spawns. Otherwise just ignore her.
    • Make sure you are buffed with Surge and possibly Rapid Regen if you're using a Restoration Staff..
    • When the guard spawns switch to overload mode and get as far away as possible. Ideally you should be able to kill the guard before he reaches you but if not use shields.
    • Remember to always keep an eye on the boss and block/roll dodge any skulls he sends you.
    • If you survived and killed the guard congratulations! Keep DPSing the boss down to 70% and try to survive the next two stages.

For multiple characters I've found the hardest part is this first stage. Once you learn a strategy that works it makes the last round relatively easy. If you're having a hard time DPSing the guard/boss down then take a look at your build and compare to poster mag-sorc builds for ideas on how to improve it. For example, by changing a few pieces of gear and skills I increased my DPS in overload mode by more than 50%.

Thank you all for the input. Im thinking to switch my gears. Currently im using 5 julianos body divines small pieces infused big pieces, 2 gold torug sword, switching between kena and nerien'eth set, and random 160 infernal staff.

So should i get twice born star or kagrenag's hope to replace julianos? Also which monster set is better kena or nerien'eth.

    Thank you

You're probably not going to see much difference in DPS between those 3 sets. Kagrenac's would be a slight DPS loss with a gain of magicka regen so if you're having problems sustaining magicka in vMA it might be useful. Both TBS and Kagrenac's have additional health as well which can help you survive a bit easier while you're learning it. If you have the materials/gold you can try crafting a purple CP160 set to compare with to see for yourself.

I've tried Nerien'eth in vMA on a few characters but it seems to do little to no DPS, probably due to the lag that the crystals have from the time between spawning and exploding. Kena is worth it on a magicka sorc but really only for overloads due to sustain issues if you use it too often. You might do better with just x1 Kena and then x1 Torugs plus another x1/x2 Torugs for weapons which will give you spell damage plus more health when/if you dual wield

Harness magic. Overload him down quick always watch the boss. Or take it slow and use negate for the daedroths. On your first run you are likely going to have to kill 3 maybe 4 of them just have a strategy and stick to it. Overload isn't as viable if you're dying a lot. This round really has no room for error. Use power sigil on first guard and then burn the boss to where he goes up that way you avoid other guard spawning if you have low dps. If you use suppression field and put down your dots with harness up the daedroths will likely die in a few seconds. If you don't have an ultimate up then spam harness and you'll survive.

Take all your cp out of bastion and relocate it to elemental defender and thick skinned. These champion trees apply to your ward so you're not actually making your ward much weaker by doing this, but you do make yourself tougher when your ward drops, it really helps. Make sure you're weapons are yellow and sharpened. I have hardened ward on both bars (same button) cos I only have 15k hp and I'm a stage 4 vamp. When fighting the crematorial guards I weave hardened ward into the rotation between crushing shocks. You want him standing in your liquid lightening for the extra dps and surge heals, so don't kite him around the arena, just face tank him with your ward on your dps bar while standing in liquid lightening.

For sets I use 5x elegance, 3x willpower, 1 kena, 1 bloodspawn, 2 torugs swords for overload bar, and a maelstrom ice staff. Using 3-4 magnus would be a decent alternative to the kena, bs and vMA staff if you don't have those items. Elegance is dirt cheap in guild stores atm though, like 4k per piece. You don't need it to be gold quality. I don't have undaunted mettle but still have 44.5k magicka and 3k spell damage. With elegance set I get 35-42k overload crits which helps to burn down tough opponents. In stage 9 I save up my overload for the last phase after you destroy the crystals. I save any sigils till then too, specifically the speed sigil which helps you collect the ghosts.

Everyone will have a slightly different setup and strat though, you'll soon develop your own. There really isn't any other way to learn other than spending a lot of time in there dying, but you will improve.

All of these are good suggestions.

Personally, my first clear and many clears after I used julianos, willpower, nerieneth, and random gold staff. My process for the first stage is as follows:

-Boss spawns: Burn boss while standing over defensive sigil , dodge skull
-Boss teleports: immediately grab defense sigil, ignore boss (don't interrupt his channel) and burn healer
-Burn boss until Crem Guard spawns, burn guard and dodge skull
-Burn boss to 70%, then proceed to next stage.

If you're dps is slower than that, you'll possibly have to deal with a second Crem Gaurd. If so, I recommend also taking power sigil to help speed up this stage while you learn the timing. I also recommend not using overload as much as possible so that you can use it to burn the crystals in the next phase, and the Crem Gaurds in the final phase.

Note: I say don't interrupt the boss's first channel because the defensive sigil reflects the damage and the Crem Gaurd only spawns once he finishes the channel. So the sooner you interrupt, the sooner it spawns.

I struggled with these till I figured out they can't hit u when your dancing around them in circles making them eat your liquid lightning while you spam pulse.
