Burning Spellwave vs Julianos vs TBS vs Scating Mage vs Sun, Mag DK PvE, What is better?

Hi guys! Spellwave is getting Upgraded in 1T, so i was wondering if it is worth over the Sun set, or the classical Julianos or TBS, or even Scating Mage (which i dont have, f***ing RNG).

So, is there any theorycrafting or personal experience with this set? Looks interesting on a MagDK but i'm not sure.

Its a decent set (Burning Spellweave) but I personally don't like a 5 piece to have a % chance of procing. I like the effect to be passive because Im sacrificing 5 slots for it.

Dont think its worth sacrificing all of that for a 20% chance to be stronger for 8 seconds which has a 12 second cooldown.



Going to have to look at all the old sets now for the new update might be some hidden gems in them.


Any idea on the date of the new update?

If you're on PC NA the Template characters should return next week (9/19) to test on PTS. If you're on PC EU you can test with Templates now on PTS.

By the way, you can craft 9-trait gear on PTS Templates now ... ZOS lifted the research restriction back in the Dark Brotherhood patch (for PTS).

Sadly, im on Xbox One NA, that's why i'm asking

@mb10 Do you know if the set procs on DoTs? Because if that's the case, you can theorically have 66% uptime, (proc as soon as it is not on cooldown), which translates in raw 400 Spell dmg.

@Darkdex it does indeed proc off of dots. i was testing this in PTS on my magplar, and it was proc'ing off of dark flare elemental blockade, vampires bane, fire staff burning status effect.

i had asked @Alcast about it, he may be able to shed some light

I strongly doubt this happened, or if it happen, i'm 100% sure it's not intended.

no, scathing is only good for sorcs and NBs.
