[PvP] Heavy Armor Mag Sorc?

Hey guys, recently I reset my Sorc to tank group dungeons, and it's been quite fun. I'd like to take him to Cyrodiil, but I have 0 experience with Sorcs in PvP.

What's currently suggested to use with a mag Sorc in heavy armor, both sets and skills?
I'm using Spectre's Eye while tanking, and I heard it's a viable option for PvP as well. Would be nice if I could use one set for both PvE and PvP, but I'm not sure how to make up for the lack in offense.

Any suggestions welcome.
Alandrol Sul: He's making another Numidium?!?
Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

I feel as if Kagrenac's provides the best as far as a 5 piece bonus, especially for a tank. Your other 6 pieces are going to directly depend on what you are trying to do as a tank. Are you trying to be support for a group while tanking, CCs and Negate? Are you trying to deal damage while being tanky (stop and reroll a stam Sorc, kidding not kidding).

The problem with Sorcs in heavy armor is they have no way to gain large chunks of health (like BoL, embers, idk for NBs) we just have a way to protect our health bar, and unfortunately by using a ward you completely Negate the fact that you are using heavy armor. If you are set in your ways and want to make it work you need to learn how to depend on Power Surge/Crit surge and boundless up as being your HoT, and possibly use mutagen ( I HATE being tied to a resto) and then using your shields to allow those heals to replenish your health bar.

So if you want to be support, id go transmutation jewellery and maybe Bloodspawn. With sword and board (something that gives mag Regen), and either a vMA resto or masters Resto.

For damage dealer, I don't think anything beats willpower for jewellery, your two piece is optional, I would personally go 1 kena, 1 max health monster piece, then vMA destro, vMA/Master Resto. You'll prob need recovery on your jewellery or the atronach, because *** costs A LOT in heavy armor.

I've run Heavy Armor on my Sorc but my burst wasnt there for me (losing 5000 pen and 10% crit hurts). And I have no skills to compliment it as far as heals go so.

Good luck on your endeavors though! Best of luck.

    PC or console?

    I play X1 Na DC.

IMO a better setup would be 5L/1M/1H for the undaunted passive, then stack wards and shields instead of armor. With 5H you lose too much spell cost reduction and magicka regeneration. Heavy armor also gimps your damage, so you can't actually burst anyone down.

I run 5 kags, 5 alchemist(5th is on my resto bar) and 3 arch mage jewelry on my night blade sap tank. It gives me health x3 magicka x1 regen x2 spell damage from kags, alchemist and arch mage around 500 and the alchemist buff of another 600+.

I can get around 4k spell damage fully buffed. Its a magicka verson of my stamina nightblade Gank Tank I normally run.

The 15 second alchemist buff is more than enough time to kill 1x2 and even 1v3 regularly. Not sure how a sorc would run it with proxy/soul tether bursts but Im sure you could make it usefull in your own way.

I have no trouble managing resources with heavy armor. Heavy resto attacks give me 6k magicka in heavy armor. This along with the constitution passive means I seldom run out of magicka. (I dont run black rose) I also heavily spec into spell erosion CP to make up for the change in armor. Since crit isnt as important(it still is just not as much as in PVP) it frees up your CPs to go into spell erosion. Im also a night blade which helps. Siphoning returns stam and magicka on light attack and I weave constantly.

In PvP I've used 5 elegance (jewlery, 1 body piece, staff), 4 elf bane, and 2 nerieneth (1 heavy, 1 medium) in PvP. 1 Molag kena, 1 bloodspawn would work too. I liked elf bane because 4pc it gives same spell damage as kags hope 5pc so let's you use a staff with another 5pc and monster helm.

My sorc is not my main so I haven't spent more than a few nights PvPing with it. Overload hit hard and heavy armor gave me enough time when ganked to shield and streak to reposition. I didn't notice any drop off in the normal sorc rotation giving up the penetration from light armor.
