Do treasure chests, the ones that require a map, drop CP160 set gear in the applicable zones?!?

    I tested this and can confirm, yes it drops cp160 and item set gear.

    Khajiit does not know, but this one currently has a bank/character full of treasure maps. Secretly this one is hoping so :wink:

    Yes. All chests drop gear at whatever level you happen to be when you open it... this includes, I presume, the chests from those Imperial Edition maps you might still have lying around.

    I haven't tested this last bit out but I will later on since I have a couple of those left.

    I just tested it with the Stormhaven CE map and I got CP160 blue gear but no set gear...hmm.

    Hmm...... Could the CE ones be different? I do also believe that the treasure maps didn't 'guarantee' a set piece, but was only a possibility. You have me rather worried good sir.

    I don't think your guaranteed to get a Set Item Piece, just a chance like today with the Thieves Troves. The difference is the piece will scale.
    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    I'm afraid so. I did some further testing and I either got a weird run of RNG or the CE treasure map chests don't drop set items at all.

    I did 3 CE treasure map chests: 0 for 3 set items - they were all blue CP160 random drops.
    I did 3 non-CE treasure map chests: 3 for 3 CP160 set item drops and a mixture of green and blue (the set items were all blue)
