R.I.P. BOE in Trials and Dungeons

from The notes: "All set drops from dungeons and Trials are bind-on-pickup."

This is hands down the dumbest move I have seen ZOS make in over a year of playing this game. Effectively removing gold making opportunity in ALL of the end-game PVE content will be detrimental to this game.

I thought PVE was the bread and butter of this game, this complete lack of understanding of the basics of MMO's on zenimax's part is mind-blowing.

I personally have been building my guild roster to teach new people all the normal trials. I have around 100 pieces of EBON, WORM, Elegant, and skirmisher gear saved to give to new players to help them with their progression. As of yesterday I have had to post everything as quickly and as cheaply as I can in fear of the gear being bound to my account.

I'm planning on building a vet team from scratch, I have all ready set aside a million gold for Weapon/Spellpower pots which WILL COVER 1 TEAM learning vet. Now I question how willing I will be to keep training new players trials when i'm to broke to upgrade a new gear set to gold. Why does an elite player who has every set piece in gold want to run with us and help us? he gets nothing unless he wants to fleece people for BOP items.

Imagine if you made made every PVP set BOP, does that sound right???

Will blue Aether, Ophidian, lunar, Twilight and Alkosh jewelry be good enough for vet trails? Are they adding "medium" difficulty that drops these drop in purple? Where is the progression from normal to vet? Anyone who is not grinding normal trials before this update has about no chance of ever being ready vet trials...

Mix this into the picture:

"Survey Reports received from Crafting Writs may now send you to any zone throughout the world."

And we are looking at some very broke and unhappy trials players.

I hate to say it but it's seems to be paving a path to where they put gold in crown boxes, and the broke masses rejoice.

I would say cheers but, meh.

I guess if your in the top 10% of pvp, or a serial harvester you can still make gold.
What am I missing? Guild trader get boring when you not selling your own items.

I thought after the addition of crafting bags I would always sub for it alone. These continued changes that make no sense are making me re think that. I have not seen one person ask for this change. Who comes up with this nonsense? Seems like a bad joke. People will not be willing to sell their drops like they do now and if they do the price will be astronomically higher. Hopefully they will come to their senses about this but I really doubt it since they never seem to listen to the masses when they voice their opinion about things like this.
I think this will be one of the few things that the vast majority of players will actually agree upon.

Trials gears are now mostly relavant to dungeons and trials run,

As they moved most sets to overland and you can still trade between group.

What was detrimental for this game was the fact that many of the highly-desirable PvP sets were only dropping in trials that PvP players have no interest in running. That is what you were making gold on. ZOS moved those sets outside of trials. You can no longer charge 300K gold per piece for them. My PvP heart truly bleeds for you.

You get one good set about every 15 runs. But you end up spending over 30k each run in terms of potions, and everything.

remember the bots camping bosses in beta? I think that's another reason. Still crap though.
Raising floors and lower ceilings by zos standards has created an iron maiden.
No matter how well you played, when the game is over, the king and pawn go back in the same box.
Be careful what you ask for from zo$, you always get punished.
Call me toxic, your the one being slowly poisoned by greed.

But my 200k profit from 3days playing says otherwise :/.

A lot of people play both content. No need to mock PVE because you only PVP.

My statement holds true. ALL END GAME PVE will NOT make you gold. Which is wrong!

I'm not making all that much gold from endgame PvP either.

Id call the 5 gold items I'm about to get from scourge good money, weird.

I for one am happy about the change. Go and do the trials, you can still sell pieces to the members that were in your party.

I think Bop is bad, it should be possible to sell gear to people who really wants them.

The income from 5 gold items that you can only get once per campaign duration does not compare to the income from an activity that you can repeat as often as you want.

I make most of my gold within trials selling 2 hour bop to other players so I welcome this change.

I think it is interesting thing that most of the sets that was in the trials were just cp 160 versions of sets that could be found in the overland just in lower levels. Now that your level depends on what gear level you get, it just make sense that you can get gear from overland at a higher level now. Since these gear sets were in most of the overland areas anyway.

I am a bit confused. Yes, I did see that 'all dungeon and trials drop will be bind on pickup.'

However, many of the sets that you get in the dungeons/trials on live now will still trade-able wouldn't it on Update 12? I'm basing on this:

    Non-Dungeon Bosses
Delve bosses increased chance - waist or feet
Overland group 100% - head, chest, legs, or weapon
Public dungeon higher chance - shoulder, hand, or weapon
    Treasure Chests
    Dark Anchor/Anomalies 100% - ring or amulet

So for things like (these are just examples below), you can still get these sets on overland (at least from my interpretation).
    Auridon Queen's Elegance (Elegance)
    Eastmarch Akaviri Dragonguard
    Glenumbra Hide of the Werewolf
    Grahtwood Shadow Dancer's Raiment
    Greenshade Syrabane's Grip
    Malabal Tor Salvation
    Reaper's Senche's Bite (Skirmisher's Bite)
    Rivenspire Necropotence | Darkstride
Stonefalls Silks of the Sun | Coat of the Red Mountain

I wonder if this is perhaps ZoS idea of removing gold from the economy. I for instance only PvE (raid) and as I already have best in slot gear all I really need are sups to continue raiding, I can spend two days farming and that lasts me for two weeks of raids easily (3-4 raids a week).

SO if I dont need to make gold to raid and I cant sell what I get from raiding I suppose I am not part of the economy anymore

    its an odd feeling. :|

I think they added 30 new sets also to replace those You mentioned. It would be stupid to get for example Red Mountain that is tradable from zone and non tradable from trial.
