As the title states I can not decide on a tank class, I am currently torn between nb tank or a DK tank.
If anyone has one or the other or both and doesn't mind posting as to why you like it, it could help me and would be appreciated.
If you are going for one tank then IMO DK Tank... mainly because of Chains. Why not make one of each and start leveling both and see which one you like better? NB tanking is really fun as well.
If you intend to tank dungeons, I have found it more fun to use a DK tank. You can:
- buff teammates with Igneous Weapons
- keep mobs together with Talons (Nightblade lacks a class group immobilize)
- survive those "whoops, nobody blocked during an AOE boss attack and all my teammates died" moments with Magma Armor to resurrect them
But really, go with whatever class you will enjoy the most. In a perfect word we haven't have classes to make these decisions and we could pick the skills we want to use, but for some reason they felt the need to lock skill lines into classes.
Well I have a a DPS magblade which I love so I couldn't dream of changing her to a tank, in the same token I don't need 2 DPS nb... Have a Magicka DK which I want to keep as well same don't need 2, didn't enjoy stam DPS much.
I also have a healer, though Templar and not sure I want another.
Suppose the idea of leveling a tank isn't desirable which is why I didn't want to level both. playing one in late game is desirable for me so I thought I would ask others for their opinions first. Oh and the fact that I only have 1 char slot left influences things as well.

Tanking is more Gear than Class, more how you use the skills you have rather than the skills you have to use. So, you can actually be both a Tank and a DPS on the same character with a Gear Swap. Just put your stats into whatever bases your morphs, and use Health Glyphs on the Tank Gear and Magic Glyphs in the case of the Magblade on the DPS gear..
So, you only have to level one character, but you can do both roles.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I think my DK Tank is better at self-sustain (thanks to Dragon Blood mainly), but that may also just be my Build, I did try to add more healing on my NB but it's a lot harder to make work in my experience (especially since my DK just needs Dragon Blood and nothing else pretty much).
So you need to decide what matters to you, if you don't care about self-sustain then I'd pick whichever one has the utility skills you prefer.
