New Imperial passive

Shield Affinity: This passive ability has been renamed to “Diplomat.” Also, in addition to the current benefit it now increases your gold gained by 1%.

So from what is the increased gold actually gained? I'm assuming monster loot and chests but what about quests, selling to NPCs etc? 1% isn't exactly a lot so if the sources of that increase are limited it's really of no benefit is it?

I don't understand why being an imperial would grant you more money for anything in the first place.
I mean if anything, the imperials should have to pay more for stuff, most of them are daedra worshipers after all.
The playable one's are outcasts/rogue, so it's natural they would face scorn from all other races.

My two main characters are Imperial (1% extra gold, yay) and dunmer - 50% immunity to lava...

And I thought that the fire passive already gave me immunity to lava :(

Better than what Orcs got. My main is an Orc and has all 6 crafting skill lines maxed out. The inspiration increase does nothing for him so he got shafted entirely...

because in every ES title imperials had more gold gain.

At the time of Skyrim and other TES games it makes sense, imperials dominate Tamriel, but that's not true in ESO.

All a bit harsh. This is an excellent passive. I can imagine a brain trust of ZoSers sitting around a table in deep thought before this 1% gold was added to the Imperial passive which was then renamed Diplomat....

Only as a result of the soul burst. Imperials still have their inate racial entrepenurial traits. Their land is just being invaded by three armies plus the daedra. In fact, becoming a mercenary shows their entrepenurial spirit in hard times.

Actually it is. If you are trying to Emperor/Empress, 10,000 extra AP could make or break it.

No matter how well spoken you are, your business won't do well when everyone hates you.
If their land was simply being invaded by the daedra, everything would be fine but their leaders worship the daedra.

Yeah the Breton bonus is OP, or at least the only one that's incredibly useful.

Honestly that's what the imperials should have gotten. Cyrodiil is their land after all, right?

If imperials make 1,000,000 gold they don't necessarily get a 10,000 bonus either. Like has been said, what happens if a mob drops like 50 gold? Imperials get 1% more? It doesn't work. That 1% is lost.

Whoever thought up these passives didn't do a very good job. 1% more gold vs 1% more AP? Who the hell would choose gold? For that matter, who the hell would choose any of the other passives over 1% AP (aside from maybe Altmer's 1% XP)?

It's important to know though what gold sources give imperials that 1% bonus and how it works for amounts under 100. We need clarification.

that has traditional reasons - it was a passive in former TES games for imperials - not sure in which ones though.
