Are bow skills snipe and poison injection classed as melee abilities?

I've searched but there is conflicting information on here, some say yes and some say definitely no.

I ask as I got hit with vipers sting and I swear it was from a bow attack. So does vipers proc on bow abilities?

No. Needs to be attacks less than 7m. On death recaps it can show before the melee ability though.

If that's the case it is also puzzling as to why there is a bow in the set too!

That's because whenever they introduce weapons to a set that didn't have them previously, they randomize and you can get any of the weapons, whether it fits or not.
