Working diligently, I now have 8 traits researched on all medium armor, but I'm tired of waiting for TBS to be made on my own. I don't personally know any master crafters, nor have I played a lot with any. It makes me nervous to give away 690 rubedo leather to someone and just trust them with it. I guess my question is... Has anyone been burned by a guy stealing mats when he says he's crafting? Or is it just a stupid suspicion that I have?

✭✭✭✭✭It happened to someone I know just recently. Unfortunately, for all the emphasis on crafting there's no safeguards for buyers. Another failing of the trading system of this game. What I suggest you do is find a good crafting guild and join it. Even if you don't craft yourself you can contribute to the guild and most of them have a store as well so you'll be able to sell things. You're less likely to be burned by your guildies and may even benefit from discounted prices that are offered to guildies only.
I run a RP guild and we are fortunate to have several good crafters and all most of them ask for from guildies are the mats and they craft for free within reason. I am a master crafter, i have one character that does all crafts and has all traits researched in woodworking, blacksmithing, clothier, can make his own top of the line enchants and food and potions.
i am on PS4 NA and was originally a PC player who transfered to the PS4 when consoles came out..
I personally have never jipped people out of their mats (materials). i always make sets and craft for my guildees all the time. most master crafters dont swindle people as they know the importance of having a good and reputable name.
with text chat on both pc and consoles now, you should be able to find a good crafter.

If you just open a trade window you are s.o.l unless recording the entire transaction history including chatTl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.2 -

✭Oh yeah. People have been burned all the time for things like this. Report them for it and move on. Hopefully Customer Service will resolve the issue after researching it and rectify it for you.
As far as trading mats to someone to make things for you, you can cut the risk down by asking within your guilds, instead of trading all the mats at once, have them do a couple pieces at a time, give to you and then you trade more mats.
It's sad that there are people too lazy to do the work in the game that they have to rip people off but hey, we have to deal with that in every day life also. Being on the internet just makes it a lot easier for thieves to be just that....thieves....NA Server - Kildair0
