It does not appear that ZoS' setup is intended to let group members see what other group members get.
There are a lot of bits of information that are appropriate to send to my computer when I am grouping with others - for that matter when I "travel to player" to be able interact with a friend who thought he was standing next to where I said (we were apparently out of phase) the ESO program on our respective computers probably knows a lot about "each other". Much of this information, though necessary for my to play "with" my friend/group is not intended for me to ever see it.
If the standard level of privacy/information sharing established by ZoS is being violated, which it is, then I would say that is inappropriate.
Comparisons with shopping IRL and so on aren't valid, because in the normal course of things, yes I can see into your cart, and in the normal course of things, no I can't see into your ESO loot.
Just like any cheat engine, just because it CAN be done, does not mean it's APPROPRIATE to do so.

The add-on in question is Wykkyd Loot Manager which only allows you (afaik) to see purple gear drops or higher. There's nothing you can do to stop people from seeing what you get, but most people aren't jerks. If some decide to beg and harass for a certain piece, just put them on ignore at the end of the dungeon and be done with it.
/signIf you don't like it take it up with ZOS, but calling for players to be banned is a jerk move.
i don't understand your problem. you will get an item, your own item. if you don't wanna sell it, keep it in your pocket ;-)raidentenshu_ESO wrote: »I shouldn't have to do that. Isn't that against ZoS TOS? Shouldn't ZOS be going after the players for using such add on? Should be a ban offense.

Some players could also start to harass people, because they don't post what they looted. So, we have to get rid of the chat and all social features of the game. Makes sense for an MMO....
As long as there is any kind of communication between players, there is a possibility to annoy and harass people. That's not avoidable in an MMO. Grow up or play single player games.
I'm sure the functionality is intended. Just as the functionality to see others' damage output used to be intended.
It's not the data that shared that's the problem, it's how players use it. We lost the ability to see others' damage output because elitist butt-heads would use the information to ridicule players. It didn't matter that the information could also be used very constructively to help a group learn to maximize their builds and play-style. ZOS had to take the info away because there's always the select few who will use the info to make other player's lives unnecessarily miserable.
The group loot info is, now, the same type of thing. Yes, the functionality has been in the game since the beginning, but before BoP items became tradeable, it didn't matter at all. Now that they are, there's going to be the occasional butt-head that's going to cause problems because of it. ZOS is going to have to disable this functionality as well, and I agree with that.
It sucks, but to avoid potentially caustic situations (thanks to the new tradable BOP item feature), we are going to have to lose this functionality -- all because of the few jerks that are going to use the info in a very negative way.
As the saying goes, This is why we can't have nice things.
