Buff Marksman's 5-piece

The Marksman's Crest set currently reads:

(2 items) Adds X Stamina Recovery
(3 items) Adds X Stamina Recovery
(4 items) Adds X Weapon Damage
(5 items) Marksman's Crest
Reduce the stamina cost of abilities by 5% and increase the damage of your bow abilities against players by 8%.

It SHOULD read:

(2 items) Adds X Stamina Recovery
(3 items) Adds X Stamina Recovery
(4 items) Adds X Weapon Damage
(5 items) Marksman's Crest
Reduce the stamina cost of abilities by 5% and increase the damage of your bow abilities by 8%.

Basically remove the "against players" part so it is viable in both PvE and PvP content. It could also help mainhand Bow builds have better DPS as well.

Looks like a missed opportunity. Only a Snipe spamming ganker would consider taking the 5-piece right now.

Since it's obtained only in Cyrodiil, I think the Devs meant for this to be a PvP oriented set. But I agree it'd be better if it applied to both.

I'd love for it to be against all instead of being players, it would make it a viable option in PvE content.

I get there are not many pvp centric sets, but op is right this one dumb..

I can see why VD couldn't be made pve, but bows are not going to over perform with a 8% uptick in trials

Your video showed a mainhand Bow build fighting players in PvP. This has literally nothing to do with the buff I'm proposing, and we don't even know if they run this set.

Not sure which heal outside of the obvious vigors going off that you expect them to be using. Both stam users attempted to heal, the sorc was attempting to keep up shields, both tried to push when I was low thinking they could cap me before I could get both of them.

It's cool and all if you play a mainhand Bow build, but in reality the only players even considering the 5-piece are Snipe spammers (which are annoying).

This thread is about making it viable against non-players. PvE-content. Why not?

The literal handful of gimped, mainhand Bow builds in Cyrodiil are not changing that because their population is so miniscule.

The buff you are proposing would be directly in conflict with the Hawkseye set and would be massively better.

The buff you are proposing would be directly in conflict with the Hawkseye set and would be massively better.

In wouldn't conflict anything lol. You could wear BOTH. That would be awesome and a pure mainhand Bow setup:
• 5x Marksman's Crest
• 5x Hawk's Eye
• Master/Maelstrom weapons

You can't be serious that you actually would oppose this buff. The only argument to be made is that it is a "PvP" set so it shouldn't be useable in PvE, but isn't that pointless? It looks like the PvE sets sure work in PvP.

This buff is completely unnecessary.

Bow damage in PVE is perfectly fine provided you know what you are doing. There are weakness' sure but there are also strengths.

Outside of top endgame performance with Maelstrom/Master weapons bows can perform on par with Melee. I did not feel it was as balanced as it was until I took a deeper look at the numbers. Certain classes perform significantly better. The majority of your performance though or lack there of is entirely on the experience and personal ability to perform rotations.

I used the element of surprise to somewhat even the odds against a superior force. But it was the ganking element that allowed me to kill the two melee beating on my face right?

If you knew anything about bows it would be more than obvious that I am not using Poison Injection. Also you would know that Marksman's Crest affects bow heavy attacks, you can test it yourself, I already have.

If you knew anything about bows it would be more than obvious that I am not using Poison Injection. Also you would know that Marksman's Crest affects bow heavy attacks, you can test it yourself, I already have.

I know all I need to know about Bows because I use them for my backbar (to cast Endless Fury) as a PvE Stam DPS.

I don't know every little trick of the trade for ganking with a Heavy Attack DK Stam build (besides the crucial weapon swap).

What I was trying to tell you, is that you could pull much higher burst damage with different setups. I would never be proud of running that type of build though, but it's all good if that is how you play

Don't take it so personal. You don't think Marksman's deserves to be usable in PvE since you think Pure Bow DPS is fantastic and I respectfully disagree

I like this idea cause right now when I pve I switch out of marksman set. I don't agree that marksman set is only for snipe spamming gankers. I think the set is wonderful for pvp for all around combat. You get recovery and weapon damage. I sustain better in pvp with marksman than I do with hundings.

I don't really see why you couldn't make this change. There are plenty of PvE sets still relevant to PvP, so why not expand that diversity?

My 5 Hundings/5 Marksman/ 2 Leki's/1 Kena performs great.
Don't ignore Marksman's first 4 traits.

No.

Just remove the unnecessary PvP-only restriction from the Marksman's Crest set.

This seriously helps mainhand Bow builds which are nonexistant right now (I call 0.00001% of players nonexistent).

There is a lack of "Bow" sets that are actually powerful. This is the single best mainhand Bow set, but has a PvP only restriction. See the issue? Why not just make it viable as a 5-piece for all types of content.

Restrictions always make sense in one way or another when for only one type of content. This set has a restriction that doesn't make sense and truly needs to be lifted.
