ABOUT CHANGING USER ID (BAD NEWS FROM ZENIMAX)

Greetings everyone. I am new at forum and my English not good.

I have a question. I changed my UserID before using support a few months ago. Yesterday, i tried change again but they tell me this:

"Customer Service is not able to provide UserID changes unless the UserID violates The Elder Scrolls Online Terms of Service."

So, is this means they don't changing UserIDs anymore?

I changed my login ID not too long ago- there was a notice in the form that said this can only be done once.

Since you've already changed it once, you may not do it again.

Wow what? I just changed my UserID probably a month ago (and once, in late 2014. So in a total of 2 userid changes) and it went fast, like less than a day and I were all set up.

Edit: Yeah OP you're probably out of Luck, looks like they added a new policy of UserID. They don't allow it anymore per 11th August 2016 https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6894/kw/userid

They used to allow it, now seems they dont

You talking character name or account name? If it's account name and you're on PC you'll just have to go with what you've got. If it's a console account try messaging Sony/Microsoft. If it's a character name then purchase a name change via Crown Store (coming to consoles in 2 days, out already for PC).

Thanks for interest. I am talking UserID used to login the game. It's starts @ character.

Yeah probably the only way that will ever get changed is either the reason Zenimax stated or the account is endangered by hackers (actual hackers and not via account sharing or carelessly giving out info).

Is there anyone have accurate information about this? Because i do not know what to do. Zenimax even did not answering my tickets about it.

Account id ingame can be changed by support i did it at SOTH Update on pc, contacted them, they asked for my current id, my email and the new id i want, though I don't know if you can do it again.

They did not ask me anything, just telling me it's not possible. Here is picture about this:

you can change userid so many times as you wish

Yes, i saw it too and i was confused. If no way to change user id, why there an option for request UserID change?

Typo's, regular harassment, and such.

I know people who have legitimately changed their user ID to stop guild's from collectively trying to *** with them. People can be petty sometimes.

I can't think of any game off-hand that allows you to change your account ID. I just don't see how this is an issue unless someone picked something embarrassing.

Only reason I could think why they might not allow it anymore is because of people who would join a guild, steal everything out of the bank, and then just get a userid change to prevent people from knowing who they really are. Idk tho

In the Steam, everyone can see others old usernames. Zenimax could make a system like this. But they chose easy way and abolish the UserID change system. Everyone become victims because a few thief. This is not fair. Of course if your argument is true...

Also if someone stole guild bank items, it's guild master's fault.

If you sell your account, new customer of the account might wanna change old name. That was a common thing, zos does not allow selling accounts, but many people sold and bought..

That's their look-out then, I've no sympathy in that situation.

I can understand it once, for any of the legitimate reasons given such as typos, player harassment etc, but none of those reasons would explain it being required more than once.
