The issue with PvP'ers and their "ideas" for fixes on abilities/passives

Every time I go watch a live stream, there's always complaints about this and that, and they propose a change/fix for said ability/passive. What they don't take in consideration is how said fix will affect the ability/passive outside of Cyrodiil. So because you're having a hard time, you want to ruin it for everybody? Remember Damage Shield duration? Stamina regen when blocking? Roll dodge without increased cost penalty? Bolt Escape cost penalty? Hmm.. all were from complaints in Cyrodiil.

I've read ideas of increasing the cost of Breath of Life (obviously an essential, oh-crap heal whenever you're healing a dungeon/trial), reducing the range and damage of Radiant Oppression (Magicka Templar DDs won't have a good execute for when you're in a trial or Maelstrom Arena), and even removing the Purge skill entirely.

When will there be a sort of system where certain skills can be toned down, but only when you're in Cyrodiil? As in, adding the penalty to the Battle Spirit Buff you gain whenever you're in Cyrodiil.

I dont understand why ZOS allow some players to make such stupid requests and actually listen to them.

For eg selling monster helms for alliance points :s

Actually ZOS should stick to their design plans and not listen to PVP or PVE whining except for out right bugs and not working as intended.

Tired of posts blaming everything on PvP also.

If you are actually asking and not looking for hyperbole

    and

    but my personal favorite

Are all rolled up into one really broken mental state from people addicted to video games and need to have self worth and value justified from spending so much time within them.

Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

And decrease the amount of AP required to get vigor amirite?
Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.

What's wrong with that? I love this feature.

Previously I'd given up on any hope of ever obtaining these items because I only participate in PVP, not pledges or trials etc. Now I end up playing more frequently to earn enough AP to buy a few monster helms each weekend.

EDIT: I'd like to see a change though, to sell divines items (instead of infused) for gold and impen for AP. The past two weeks it has also been a bit backwards.

Well on the one hand, the vast majority of balancing decisions should be made in the context of PvP, which is where balance matters most. The problem is that they either don't spend enough time in the design phase when working on fixes/changes or they never truly understood the problem to begin with, and the changes we receive are either half-baked or ***-poor.

And on the other hand, ZOS really sucks at big-picture class/skill/mechanic design. I mean, look at poisons for example - they dropped the ball so hard on that. Had they actually listened to thoughtful players we would have had a much better end product. Another example is Proxy Det - when every magicka player was using this in their rotation for single target and AoE, it was a problem and needed a nerf in situational effectiveness.

And for the record, the majority of your examples were balance problems in both PvP AND PvE: shield stacking, perma-block, perma-rolling, Breath of Life easy button healing, etc. But the solutions we received were garbage.

I think the core problem is that ZOS doesn't have anyone truly devoted to the balancing task.

Maybe to offset the fact you can buy pvp or DLC gear from guild stores for gold even though you don't PvP or purchase some/all of the DLCs.

Personally I am all for it. I have always disliked MMOs that gate certain content (highlevel crafting recipes behind raids in the early days of WoW).

By your logic, you should only be able to wear a PvP set if you PvP or a Trials set if you do trials.
No agility rings for anyone outside of PvP?
How would you propose to satisfy the PvEers or Trial Runners who would like to try running a Ravagers or other PvP set.
Create duplicate sets of everything with maybe different styles depending on the content you choose to do?
