How Much Crowns Would You Spend For A Fighting Companion?

I wouldn't pay crowns for an NPC for hire... I'd pay in-game gold and/or do quests/finish a quest line/whatever, as long as it's in-game stuff.

Either the AI will be as useless as the average quest NPC companion and just as well implemented as the Breton Hero costume, or the selling of followers will essentially be paying real money for an advantage.

Either is very very bad in my opinion.

I came here from Skyrim for the opportunity to have people companions, not AI. I could have just stayed punching Lydia in the back of the head every time she got in front of me for free.

Only encountered 2 NPCs that actually had your back in a brawl: Cadwell and Skordo the Knife (in Rivenspire). At one time, if you didn't do the quest, Skordo would follow you indefinitely and wrecking blow all the enemies.

Content is already easy enough for the most part. The NPC would mostly just be in the way and agro stuff at really bad times.

If anyone has ever played EQ a.k.a Everquest remember the mercenaries you paid gold per like 30 mins it was up? You had multiple ones but you had a Healer/buff merc, A tank/taunting merc, and a dps merc

Well then how about Follower NPC that can also fight (at least it looks like they are fighting) but they deal 0 damage. Add a new tab in Crown Store Daedric, Domestic, Exotic, below that add "Followers" and they replace pet slot or something

I would like to have Lydia equivalent in ESO as well

Why hasn't the obvious been stated yet? This already exists. They're called Sorcerer pets.

Sadly no. Since companions don't work in PvP. I won't waste my crowns. Since I don't hardly do any PvE no offense. Hence why I stop buying pets. Even the ones I like. Pets are not available in PvP. Unless your a Sorc... But no companions even if I did tiny bit PvE.

I'm not a fan of buying crap like this but in extreme cases of it was awesome and OP....maybe 1,000 crowns max.

You get a useful companion during nonvet City of Ash, too--in fact, you can pick between a healer and a DPS!

0. Companion should have been a feature of the game from day 1. Not stupid pets that cant do anything.

I wouldn't pay for a fighting companion, but I would pay for someone to stand on plates to open doors etc.so I could do content without someone - the fighting bit, I would do.
I feel bad asking all the time due to alts etc.

A pocket healer npc would be some what useful for grinding but for this concept to be balanced it would have to scale off of your stats and be restricted from anything with a leader board so no trials.

This, pretty much.
If there would be something in crown store that would give you a combat advantage, it would be pay to win. Because that would mean faster and easier gear grind and better leaderboard positions.
And questing is easy enough without companions imo.
