Is it legal to sell a pet in the game for gold? I was gifted a Bristlegut Piglet but I'm on PS4

A lady who quit playing the game but found out recently I was playing, gave me a card today for a Bristlegut piglet pet. I play on PS4 and it won't let me redeem the code so I have no use for it. You think I would get banned if I tried trading it in game for gold or something I could use? I know there has to be people that play on both the console and the PC, so they might have some PS4 resources to trade for it?

Deathgiggle✭✭✭If there is some way to use it on PS4 I will use it but I was told it was PC only pet. If they are going to add the ability to claim it on PS4 in the near future I'd hang on to it but as of right now it just seems like a waste to have it and can't redeem.0
