For those who don't know it, there is currently a Crown Store sale going on.. not sure if it's all platforms but definitely on PC.

That's what I'm trying to figure out, but if I was to guess, probably through Sunday... but don't quote me on that. But in the past, normal sales typically ran through Sunday.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Gina, is there going to be an official announcement on this including the duration?

I wonder if today maintenance was just for the website crown sales or in-game crown store items are also affected? Can somebody check it, please? I am at work at this moment.

It did! So I assume this is a Microsoft sale for Xbox and PC.

Maintenance was for this fix... something to do with character creation templates.

IIRC the sale is from 2nd - 8th and is available for Xbox and PC only. I'll see if I can find the page...

I now have over 26000 Crowns... will be buying a lot more packs before the sale is done. People wonder why? These would be the same people who complain about Crown Store prices... when now I'll be buying everything at half-price.

@ZOS_GinaBruno You see? This is exactly why I dislike this company and will quit soon. I just paid retail for 2,500 crowns. If you go to any retail store and purchase an item that goes on sale within 30 days, you will get refunded the difference. Will that happen here? No? I stop buying crowns.

I just bought THREE 5500 packs this morning at Regular price, but I'm not complaining. Irritated a bit yes, but MMOs never announce sales in advance because then they know more people would wait for the sale so they'd make less profit. By doing 'surprise sales' they have less risk of losing revenue.

I only know of a few stores that will refund the difference if an item later goes on sale, and a lot of that has to do with their refund policy. Most offer a refund of difference simply because otherwise the customer could just return the item and buy it elsewhere so they'd lose the entire sale. Online digital transactions you cannot 'return', so there is no incentive for a company to refund the difference because you cannot simply return it and buy the same thing elsewhere. You could TRY to submit a ticket, and they may possible issue a partial refund, but I doubt it work.

The sale is for PC/Mac as well and that has nothing to do with MS. This sale is on the elderscrollsonline.com site.

Dunno what places you're shopping at, but "refund the difference" is not a routine policy at most retailers.

It certainly won't do you any good with Steam purchases either.

This is why I either buy eso+ months if I want something bad immediately and wait for 5500 crown packs to go on sale so I can buy in bulk later.

Yes, and like I said... their incentive is that you can just return the item and go elsewhere to buy it on sale... there isn't the same incentive with online digital items. You can't just 'return the Crowns and buy them elsewhere'... so ZOS has no incentive to offer partial refunds.
