What is the best DK for pvp? Stam or mag?

Like the title says, just curious. Which hits harder? Which have better survivability? Stamina or Magicka?

    Stam will hit harder. If you gank, small group (4) or join unorganized raids then go stam, if you join organized large groups go magicka because of prox det.

    Well in general if the Stamina DK hits harder and kills better, would it not by logic perform better in a group? Just asking questions, sorry. Proximity Detonation seems okay, but does it really outperform a Stamina DK in a group?

    Stamina DK is better in 1vX, 2vX situations, but for any kind of group play i would go for mag dk. Sure Stam DK can run steel tornado and DBoS in bigger group play, but Mag DK has proxy, Inhale, Elemental Ring, Banner that hits a lot harder than on a stam dk etc.

    From my experience anyway.

    Would you personally choose Stamina or Magicka DK for PvP? Just wondering. My play-style, I am not part of any big guild or anything and I plan to just run randomly around and group with whatever PuGs I can get. What would you suggest?

    Then Stam DK. Stam brings less group utility to the table, but if you are solo or PuGging that Mag DK utility largely goes unused.

    MDK has a higher learning curve. It excels at using talons and fossilize to lock down an opponent so your allies can wipe them. Some of the most fun I've had has been on my mDK being first in the breech in a keep, holding block, standing in bats, inhaling and taloning everything around me while 30 players on the other team beat on me. Then my faction pushed and wipes them because they were focused on me. But solo open world mDK is hard mode

    For StamDK, you'll mainly use non-class skills. 2H with either 1hs or bow is the usual setup. Main damage comes from either dizzying swing or light attack-ransack-bash. The only class skills you'll end up using are potentially the poison DoTs, reflective scale, igneous shield, leap, or corrosive armor. StamDK is great in solo open world and in outnumbered fights. One of the tankiest builds out there that can still kill stuff.

    So...what playstyle sounds appealing to you?

    If you are in an organized group with a good leader you can focus your proxdets on a choke and progressivly wipe 40 with 16. That sort of play is more about instant burst. sDK isnt bad at all in that situation but rather proxdet is so good for that and aoe roots with maim help out a lot.
