Basically, what do you pick and use vampire or werewolf?
I want to see which one is the most popular. I am not personally looking for builds, just want to see which one would you go for a vampire build or a werewolf build?

I don't get it? What exactly are you asking? Need to be more specific.

I mean vampire is good for magicbuilds/stambuilds and werewolf leans heavily towards stam. is that what you want to know?

    Vampire
Vampire if you are a magicka character because of the regen. Helps even if you are stamina too actually...
    Let me rephrase it.
Vampire much better for pve, can be useful in pvp too. Some stamina chars want the burst of power from WW in pvp though. Not so helpful in pve since its very hard to sustain

They got rid of the skill needing to be slotted part, all you need is to be vampire stage two and above. In order to get regen.

Depends on what you want. Keep in mind ww uses up your ult spot and cost 400 ult while vamps don't have to slot(anything, much less ult) to get their regen. WW have no penalties when not in WW form(unless you count losing your ult spot) Vamps get flame penalty(you can offset this with some race/resists)

It depends on what I'm looking to do.

If I want to cruise around the city @ night, leaning into the wind on my BMW motorcycle, stars streaking through the sky above like I'll be hitting warp speed any moment, sunglasses hiding the tears of pleasure because sunglasses are an always accessory, it's vamp all the way.

If I want to run screaming through the forest, chasing down a nosy tourist with a too-bright flash on their point & shoot digital camera (it's noontime! You don't need flash, even in the forest), drops of mayonnaise leaking from the corners of my fanged mouth (supper having been rudely interrupted by aforementioned tourist), my mind ablaze with thoughts of how-- when I finally catch up with that sonofagun-- I'm gonna tell him the truth about the government... Then it's a werewolf kind of Monday for me.

I mean, they give us multiple character slots for a reason.

Vampires for pvp yeah sure. The mist form, speed in stealth, invigorating drain when in a group its effective.

But that 75% extra fire damage makes them pathetic in many pve cases where flame damage is some how always involved.

So id say werewolf for pve. For some reason whenever people see a werewolf in pvp the natural instinct is for everyone to attack it haha

Which is cooler? Werewolf for sure :)

I have none of those skill lines yet - but if, I would go for werwolf, because it is very different to how it was in Skyrim - your armor and weaponry still counts. I do not like the visuals as a vampire in ESO, otherwise I would eventually choose that.

This said, if I would have a dunmer, that one would possibly be a vampire - but I have no dunmer among my 12 characters.

    Depends on "best" really.

WW can crit for 20K in cyrodiil for really cheap stam, 1-2 howls and your dead, even in 5 heavy.

Vamps can use mist (especially after the changes) and swarm to stay alive for much longer and do relatively decent damage.

Personally i loved WWs back in the day it was weak, it was just nice. Now my main is neither a vampire nor a ww, i really do not like 1-2 button insta killing from WWs nor do i like the fire damage and the pale skin from vamps.
mDKs still need a lot of love!

Neither is any good, imo. In PvE Vampire gets wrecked by fire. Some endgame groups are even vampist and kick vampires because of it. Vampires get wrecked in PvP by fire too.

Both are susceptible to Fighter's Guild skills and they have high frequency of use in PvP. So neither are good for it in my opinion. If you just want to move faster in stealth there are at least two armor sets with that as a bonus. Not optimal, but they exist.

As a 2H Stamplar I do far more damage as a human than I do in Werewolf ultimate form (fully upgraded with all passives), so it's pretty much pointless. I only have it because I have a bad habit of not using my ult, so slotting it with an extra 15% regen is useful for my playstyle.

There are better ults you can use and you're better off without the weaknesses they add to you. It's also nice to not look like roadkill.

That really depends, I think. I have a guildie in my PvP guild who's an awesome WW. He's been running a WW PvP event and it's super fun. Of course, I'm still learning to properly play a WW in PvP, but he's held up 6-8 enemy players at a resource flag while we were all dead and it took them a while to finally get him.

Vampires only have regen above seccond stage and with one vampiric skill slotted

Actually, you only need to be above second stage and have the passive unlocked for magicka/stam regen, no need for vampiric skill being slotted, hence why I switched back to vamp on one of my stam builds, as WW although very powerful in PvP and a joy, sometimes bugs out.

Personally have always been vamp. I am going to do werewolf for the dyes in the future, but vamps are great for anyone's build because you retain your skills where as in ww you have to practice a new bar and playstyle + a loss of an ultimate slot which for my build works out to the same power whether or not im in WW for or not.
