Great ideas and would be cool to see but we all know it'll be a rather simple event.
I am NOT opposed to festivals, quite the opposite really.
But I prefer something smaller and that feels "natural". Make NPCs celebrate the festival too, for example.
As for snowing for a Christmas event, (Saturalia, Old Life/New Life festivals)... I see no problem with snowing, as long as it is in places where it makes sense to snow. Ideally, for an appropriated period of time, too. I mean, I'm pretty sure Skywatch wouldn't get much snow or for a long period of time, unlike maybe Shornhelm. Surely the best thing would be if the game had seasons, but I'm aware that would be asking waaaaay too much.
Once again.
Hallowen event is comming. Its called Witches Festival in Tamriel. You can see it in PTS now

I would love that! As a former Guild Wars players, they went all out with their holidays. Maybe a little bit too much. But they had their main cities changed out for holidays such as christmas and halloween. Everything looks the same, just that they are crazy decorated lol.
After One Tamriel then maybe this will be easier because then everyone can travel to Shornhelm. I feel like the community needs something that brings everyone together. I mean this is an MMO after all.

Christmas? Is there a equivalent? And something that can be referenced & not just shoe-horned in to meet some people's demands. As an pagan atheist I would have a huge problem with anything based on any religious festivals IRL.
Not that happy about the Witches thing but hey.
Yikes! No, no and no.
Christmas decorations and guards in Halloween costumes in ESO? Are you drunk?
Well i checked Tamriel calendar. There is just equivalent of our Halloween. Witches Festival itself. Im not sure but... there was no equivalent of Christmas

f2p games like FLYFF and Aura Kingdom have holiday events hell FFXIV has holiday events that are both weatern and japanese and are back to back its more like if zos is willing to do something like thisUnsent.Soul wrote: »Seems like a whole hell of a lot of work on ZOS end. There isn't a direct equivalent to Christmas, but we have Saturalia and the Old Life/New Life festivals, which could all be celebrated in ESO in a two-weeks event on the last week of december and first week of january.

Old Life/New Life Festivals would probably be the easier of the set to integrate; since all of Tamriel seems to start their calendar at the same time it's not likely to be region-specific. And isn't real-life Christmas Molag Bal's Summoning Day? While I'd be happy to see them do something with that, I doubt it's the sort of thing most of the playerbase would expect that time of year...
andreasranasen wrote: »As Witches Festival approaching i hope there will be more of these.. I hope some sort of decorations involved, rather than just a quest/instance. (FYI I'm on console so i have yet tested out this festival on the PTS).
- On Halloween the weather could be dark and spooky and keep-guards in Cyrodiil could wear skeleton costumes. And maybe fight off small skeleton armies spawning across Tamriel, just like the mini anchors. Dropping Halloween themed loot such as potions and other goodies.
- On Christmas we could have snow falling in each Alliance main city as well as in Cyrodiil. Main cities could be decorated. Main cities could have minor events like Snowball fighting. I mean why not?
I believe this would add so much to ESO and the community within the game. Holidays in real life is all about bringing people together. For participating in the holiday event/quests you could receive a costume, or a special cool weapon motif, or a small pet.
- Have unique holiday potions, food and drinks be either special rewards or rare drops.
I think this would be a lot of fun. Especially since they have tons of Holiday's in Tamriel. New Life Festival, Day of Lights, Festival of Blades, The (In)Famous Jester's Day etc. All of these could be incorporated in some way. I am not asking to go all out turning Grathwood into Santas workshop. But minor decorations, change of weather, unique rewards for login and participating.. Not too much to ask for? Let me know what you think and what you would want to see if this was going to happen!
(Hopefully this works as i've had problems posting discussions on here before from iOS devices.)
