It ain't pretty but it's gritty, and that's how I like my elder scrolls. Your 'hero' might just be a cannibal that kicks puppies for fun.

Maormer means Sea Elf (basically)
Orsimer is what they call Orcs
Falmer means Snow Elf
And so on...

I think he's aware of that, he's just asking that the "Mer" names whih the races self-identify as be listed at character creation rather than the humanized translations.
Altmer don't call themselves High Elves, they call themselves Altmer. Humans call Altmer, and other Mer, Elves.

I understand the point, but I swear I've heard a few Dunmer refer to themselves as Dark Elves. Plus, there's miss "WUT. AVINT YEW EVA SEEN A WUD EWF BEFOW" in the Mournhold crafting area. So it's not unheard of, but I guess Altmer would be the most stingy about it, hah.

Here let me lay it out real simple for ya.
Racial names given by Humans and other races but not actually used by the respective races themselves:
High Elf
Dark Elf
Wood Elf
Sea Elf
Orcs
Snow Elf
Dwarves
An Altmer is not going to call himself or another of his race High Elf. A Dunmer is not going to call himself a Dark Elf and so forth.
As for that sad attempt to insinuate that I dont know much about Elder Scrolls. Take that childish nonsense back to the hole you crawled out of.

Same here really. In fact, I don't think I EVER see the mer names appear in normal conversation in Tamriel by ANY race. It is usually only used in scholastic terminology.

The quote in my signature is from Vicecanon Hrondar in Shadowfen, heh. They're definitely used interchangeably in game.

I think we should be allowed to enslaved the argonians and force them to shine up our shoes and magical staffs. They should be forced to work for their masters. Also they should have their tails cut off each year to serve as a main dish on a silver platter and their eggs be taken away to serve for food preservatives.
