Solo PVP - no choice but NB?

This is mostly solo PVP.

Since I've came back to playing ESO - I've been primarily playing on a Stam DK. The class is nice, definitely above average and an absolute beast for PVE, however I find in PVP the reliance on WRECKINGBLOWSPAM as our only real source of burst DPS to be terrible, especially with the lag I've been experiencing lately.

Mag DK - this is my main, and as far as solo PVP, I might as well be walking around with a big-a$$ sign saying "please kill me because I can't attack you unless you're 5 feet from me".

Magplar - actually not bad, especially with Vamp, but no real burst despite RD execute. Feels more like a utility build than a solo PVP one.

I had a magicka sorc named Auri-Elf which I rage deleted because of shield nerf. I now regret this

Basically what I'm getting at, it almost seems as though you HAVE to play Stamblade if you're a solo PVP player. The burst, CC and sustain is unmatched in PVP. I've only levelled a stamblade to level 22 and I'm already consistently beating higher level players (I am in Blackwater Blade for this character though) but I hate myself for it

So can people with more build and PVP experience recommend; turn to the dark side and keep rolling Stamblade, or hope I keep running into players with L2P issues that can't remove my Stam DK DOT's?

Only classes with enough mobility to solo PVP efficiently in most situations are sorc and nightblade. Choose one.

This is sad... This is really, really, really, sad... Who'd have ever thought that the day would come where to be competitive in PVP, you HAD to play as a Nightblade of sorts. Whether it be magicka or stamina. And yet, people will argue night and day of how Nightblades are balanced and all the classes are equal...

This is not good, and things will only grow worse — unless Nigtblades and stamina classes as a whole get "checked" and or "fixed". Please do something about this ZOS devs. @ZOS_RichLambert @Wrobel

If ZOS removed the terrible rage inducing unnecessary and terribly designed UNPURGABLE SNARE on every gap closer, you could go back to soloing again on other classes.

Every day in PvP when I get targeted by multiple people and am held in place until they connect I wonder why this terrible curse was put into the game. Gap closers missing was never a problem. It's fixing something that wasn't broken and it really hurt open world solo builds while buffing zergs.

ZoS need to tone snares down alltogether, max snare should be 50% on only on skills designed for snares like the inital razor caltrops snare, It's 70% now needs to be 50%.

Snares on gap closers need to go or be capped at 30%.
Snares from templar ritual needs to go.

If people want to snare they should slot a snare and not just have them everywhere.

You can solo a magplar no problem. Add in dark flare and you're good. If you wanna gank people NB style use invisibilty potions. With the right potions you can basically be every class at any given time. Only thing you're missing is fear but if you DF then RD someone from sneak they'll probably be dead anyway.

I solo on Templar , NB and Sorc .

DK is hardest for me .

NB are mostly attacking from stealth, mage light morph radiant mage light decreases damage from stealth and remove stun affect (from invisibility).

It's really good for fighting against NB, this restrict their damage pretty much and give room to take out them easily.

U shld also have some critical resistance to not taking big hits..

I've seen every class and style of build used effectively to solo PvP, it can be done. You just need to know how to play the build right. Example - I'm a pet sorc on my main without minmaxing things such as my race, and I do very well for myself in PvP.

Recommend a heavy armor set I can buy or make for pvp? I'm currently on cp160 Hundings, agility sword/dagger necklace and mixed monster set.

Dark Flare hits probably 50% of the time, if you're lucky.

Tanky-ish templars seem to be pretty good - stamplars, should i say. Got rekt by them today so many times in 1vx situations, the embarassing kind

This is how game works now. Due to fact we cant get ballance ,we get 1-2 builds overpowered at the time for few months then those builds are nerfed and new 1-2 builds takes their place.

I agree that Stam DK has lack of mobility.

But the only thing that really bugs me with Stam DK and Sorc is that you choose a class and then barely use class skills on your bars. However I still like to play them but just using 20-30% on your bars for being efficient doesn't really speak for a class technically.

Most effective class to solo pvp as but it has a slightly higher skill requirement? Stam DK.

Why DK is better than NB? Most NBs are stamblades, spam talons/petrify after they fail to kill you with their initial burst and you just hit them with their hardest counter.

They'll lose a fat chunk of stamina and then one of their..Idk 3 cloaks as they try to flee to regain their composure? Hit talons again to lock them in place to make them dodge roll or hit shuffle to purify themselves of it.

In that case just hit them with a reverb when they get close or simply petrify them again, for the record if they refuse to dodge roll/cc break talons/petrify go for a WB or Dizzying Swing to force them into it or else risk getting near one shot.

Why do I keep saying "use talons"...well you see...talons doesn't require a target and it will lock a NB in place which will also rip them out of stealth and it has a pretty insane range that will go through walls and other things a NB could use as cover.


All in all DK is by far the most effective class in the right hands in fights, only issue is well...mobility..prepare to be zerged.

This will work on pretty much any class but its the hardest counter to the common hit and run stamNBs, not really anything new tbh.

That being said, I promise you any class can be good in PVP as long as you can play it well enough. Even MagDK. Also, it's not true that in order to succeed you have to pick either NB or Sorc, it depends on so many things other than your class. Go out there, do some PVP, find a strategy and a playstyle that fit the situation.

And please, for God's sake, stop saying NBs are unbalanced. What's unbalanced is MagDK, which is generally underperforming in comparison to other magicka classes. That's all.

I can honestly say I've never tried a magblade. What's their strengths? Infinite cloak can't hurt, I'd imagine.

What's a typical rotation for a magblade?

I'm not saying Nightblades need a nerf, did you read the title? I'm simply asking if I'm to continue solo PVPing, is there any other choice?

I have no problem solo pvping on my stamsorc, magplar, stamblade, or stamdk.... for the most part nightblades are squishy (coz most of them are glass cannon spec) and they can cloak so i would see why some would say NB assassin is good for solo. They have their ups and downs

All stamina builds are great for solo pvp.
Magicka DK has to be Vampire in order to work in my opinion.

Not with the right players. There's NBs on our campaign who can literally take out a large group solo.

Definitely Magicka or Stam NB and Mag Sorc (maybe) or Stam Sorc for solo PvP because us Templar's are useless now on our own. I still solo/small group on my Templar and I can barely tank good NBs now because they stack weapon damage and use broken mass hysteria and broken Evasion/Shuffle.

A good mag templar is a real PVP beast. Night blades deliver burst damage but Templars are most sustain to survive..

Not sure if you talking about stam Templar, which is not good anyway. Going to change my khajit to Dunmer mag templar once change race comes out.

Any class is good for solo pvp you just have to build right. Some will be harder but it's not impossible. You'll see players wrecking people on any class because they now what skills to use when and when to go defensive and then offensive. Learn your class and you'll be fine.
Also btw stam Dk burst isn't only wrecking blow go sword and board for more reliable dps.
