Targeting critters by accident

Is there anyway to switch off targeting critters? It happens way more often than it should, I aim that ability or an ultimate, and it suddenly seems to find that spider that was scuttling or a rat not far from the target. Is there an option maybe to not target enemies with a yellow outline (not to be confused with switching off innocent kills)?

The worst thing is the moment you used Streak to get through a random mob like a Bandit, Pirate, Cultist or some such. But then you remember you're on the shore and you just angered three or four nearby Mudcrabs who come at you with bloodlust.

this could be solved by adding critters to the "prevent killing innocents option" or make them non-targetable and force manual aim if they want to kill them for fishing bait.

My least favourite critter is the one who hangs out near Horvantud the Fire Maw in Vet City of Ash. I hit that damned crawler pretty much every time I do that Pledge! Sometimes with a Meteor!

Why a Meteor should hit the crawler when I have the boss Tab-targeted, I don't know, but it happens. "Best" of all is when the boss dies before my Meteor goes off, and then my Ultimate gets wasted on the critter afterwards. Argh!

Oh yes... this.

Was four streaks gone on hews bane southern beach when realized clafear missing. Turned around to see clanfear struggling with mudcrabs mob #1 while mob #2 was charging me.

Darn near died i was laughing so hard.

I could tell after, that was one pissed off clanfear.

There's a configuration option that makes ground attacks, if I recall the text of it, that makes them fire only after a second press of the ability button, much like Sorcerer's Liquid Lightning or Templar's Blazing Spears (yellow bordered circle on first press and shoot at mark on second press)

Does not solve the problems of hitting critters, but at least you don't waste ultimates like Nova or Meteor.

I do not understand why ZOS has not implemented a lower priority for critters, especially when in combat. Too many times I have had the system target a critter that is beyond my target instead of the enemy my cross hair is on. Then there are times when you cc a target that causes their character model to kneel down and just like that you have lost the target for a sec. or 2 even though you haven't moved the cross hair.

I think their "smart targeting" needs a tweak.
