Why doesn't the Melee Weapon Expert ability SHOW the increase to the weapon dmg?

I have about 50 points in the ability and the number for my weapon dmg, shown in the attribute section, did not change at all. Is this a glitch?

"Weapon Damage" stat is not the same thing as "damage done by your weapon". The Weapon Damage stat is one piece of a somewhat complicated formula that determines actual damage done by all stamina-based skills as well as all light and heavy attacks by non-staff weapons (Two-Handed, One-Hand & Shield, Dual Wield, Bow).

That Champion Point star only buffs light and heavy attacks, not your "Weapon Damage" stat. Your tooltips will not change because only skills have tooltips and skills are not affected by Melee Weapons Expert.

The naming of the "Weapon Damage" stat causes a lot of confusion. You are better off pretending it is called "Feat Power" or something like that.

Without getting too deep into the math, the "Mighty" star is a much better place to put your points that "Melee Weapons Expert". Mighty will pretty much give you an across the board increase in all actual damage done, not just light and heavy attacks.

Not sure but I think if you hover over actual weapon damage abilities (dizzying swing as example) you will see the increase there

it doesnt increase your base weapon damage (your stat sheet) the value of equipped weapons, or your tooltips, because it's only light & heavy attacks,

best thing to do is find any mob that can take a few light & heavy attacks, (mammoths tend to be the best option) and hit them, get a feel for what your light & heavy attacks do normal & crit, Buffed & unbuffed, without any CP slotted, and then put a bunch in to melee expert you should see the figures go up.
if they dont then this is bugged so you should report it here & via a ticket :)
