Finally enjoyed my self in PVP, but the lag is absolutely trash. Still frames for over 20 seconds.

Despite the extraordinary amount of lag due to my vishera core Cpu (AMD FX 8320). The recommended specs on this game need to be jacked up a LOT, you at least need a i5 6600k to run this game in PVP withotu a doubt, and even then you'd probably still lag.

I got a good group, and took 3 castles, then managed to fight for Bleaker and finally got it at the end as a few zone chatters would trolling me about it. I dislike the combat in PVP since I lag so much, I got a lot of achievements for damage dealt, seiging, supporting etc...

If PVP was like it used to be, I might actually enjoy it. But ZOS has made this game far too performance heavy for my CPU to properly run it at some points. IT seems like everytime you fight someone on the enemy side the game lags, as if the mechanics of getting attacked by enemy factions caused too much of a load. Really sad to see how bad performance wise this game has gotten. I used to play PVP nearly fine on a R6 series laptop APU during laucnh lol... Now I literally freeze for nearly a minute some of the time.

Also playing on low end PC. Noticed the frame rate and latency is much better during off peak hours (e.g., late night Pacific time) or on low pop campaigns.

I played on a below minim specs R6 series APU laptop back during beta and launch, I was able to play PVP just fine back then basically no lag, especially when I turned off spell effects (which ZOS removed...) I could play PVP just fine no issues.

Now that I'm on a decent gaming rig, the game is too unoptimized for my CPU to handle. I jump from 20fps to 60fps because of this games unoptimization and my bad CPU core architecture.

It's not really a hardware problem on your end. My machine can handle Star Citizens' Alpha like a beast and then when playing ESO in Cyrodiil and now in Trials it's either the Big Bad Super Overpowered Loading Screen Boss of Death, the only boss that seems to kill me no matter how good I am at the game, or the random fps dropping to sub teens. I've asked a few people with really high end machines and they said the same thing talking about $2000 PCs and up. It's completely server side, and not your machine OP, unless you have a potato for a PC.

That's what I'm saying, I used to have a literal toaster with wifi. It could actually run ESO (on the lowest possible settings, below low-graphics, even with Spell effects turned off in PVP which isnt possible anymore) and it Never lagged or stuttered aside from the Load screens when you moved around too fast in heavy cluttered cities.

That laptop, after the 1.6 update I believe, a month or so after subs dropped. Failed to load objects due to the game having something like an anti-cheat code that was never properly optimized or threaded. That laptop despite being able to run the game for the first year of it's release and it's beta, was unable to run ESO (with no hardware/software problems) after that specific update.

I'd just like to complain about it until ZOS actually address it by fixing the code or upping the recommended specs. But sadly It's never been that big of a problem for me because I'm used to playing games at low fps. Well not anymore now that I have a custom build, but with ESO it feels like I'm trying to spawn 10 billion sweetrolls in skyrim.

I just canceled my monthly sub. Cyrodill is unplayable at the moment and since I'm not into dungeons or raids. ESO is just not worth my money. Will try other games for now till the Lag issues get fixed.

You don't need an I5 to run this game. When PVP lags, everyone lags. You could have an OC'd 6700K with Quad Titan GPU's and 64 GB of ram with a 1TB SSD and it won't make one bit of difference when the server lags. You'll sit there going, WTF.... why can't my 8k computer run this game!?!?!?!?!

Dude, I run this game on a i7 4790k OC'd to 4.4Ghz and have the new GTX 1080 and the game still runs like utter cr@p. There is no amount of hardware that will fix utterly poor and broken optimization.

Low frame rate has more to do with your client hardware struggling. Latency issues (rubber banding, unresponsive abilities/weapon swap etc) have to do with server.

Whatever you guys with high end rigs are experiencing, trust me, it runs a lot worse on low end PCs with weak CPU. Large PVP battles in ESO is a very demanding situation on client hardware, more demanding than any other game I've played recently.

I've seen youtube videos of some with i7-5820K and 980Ti getting 30-40fps in huge zergs at 1080p max settings. Thats my goal after next upgrade. I'd kill to achieve even 15-20fps under those circumstance. At least I'd be able to see what's happening on the screen.

In my case common frame rate in large battles is around 8-10fps and then when I get attacked by multiple enemy players at once, it drops below 1 frame per second (this is at 800x600 or 1280x720, no shadows, no view distance, lowest possible graphics settings). I'm sitting there waiting a few seconds to find out if I'm still alive.

In other situations (outside Cyrodiil or on low pop campaign), I get around 50fps. Imperial City is much better even on Trueflame, whether due to less players or some other reason, consistently around 30-40fps.

It's because the anti-cheat algorithm(I guess) is not multi-threaded so us AMD users (most specifically) are completely screwed when it comes to ESO. The per-core performance is drastically worst than Intel's haswells or skylark cores.

This game is without a doubt the most CPU demanding game I've ever played. It rivals semi-modern console emulation in demand for a good CPU.

Get a PS4 or spend 1000+ to get a little better graphics.

The 1080m in laptops coming out soon should fly.

This game has gone up 2 direct X versions as a base requirement. Don't expect a PC that play the game only OK to last for very long.

Also do not expect to PVP in primetime with anything less than a 50mbs internet.

75mbs and my ps4 can handle 200 people battles with no rubber banding and way better frame rates than last years.

There are plenty of less populated servers.

would buy the computer (or computer part if just upgrading pieces) ever. single. time. Consoles just have no clue what they are missing.

The next console I buy will be a version 1 sega dream cast. Way worth my money vs xbox or ps4. My ps4 is currently a expensive netflix machine which i dont even use that for lololol my roku 3 handles that. Basically my ps4 is never used.

On topic, I have zero issues in pvp unless people decide to blob up and do the the traditonial "we need to win, stack crown, HEAL CROWN!!!! *insert dorito and mountain dew filled mouth rage screams here with foaming of the mouth happening*"

Once that mentality kicks in ans the servers start dying, then the lag is what kills me. I have 100+ internet connection and their servers are still junk. I have to choose between pvp and pve. Which one do i want to lag badly in. I always choose pvp to lag in lol its less embarassing to be in a huge battle when the servers start crapping out vs just farming mats in pve and for no reason the servers go to crap.

@KingYogi415 i have been playing eso since beta phase 1. Being competitive doesnt bother me as majority of people are all running clone fotm builds. This happens on consoles as well as pc. Cheating happens on BOTH.

You just dont know what to look for on consoles, but i can assure you cheats AND bots exist on both versions (pc and console).

What it comes down to is do i want to spend a little extra money on something i can upgrade at will or be locked to a system i cant upgrade until microsoft or sony create a different version of current systems for the same price as the one you already have.

Would rather buy a pc ;) which i did lol I rather enjoy eso more on pc, hated it on my ps4. addons make the game so much better

    PS4.. or a NEO?

I'd go for a PC and upgrade individual components when needed and be able to run add-ons (and suffer with Cheat Engine cheaters :P )

Well personally I rather play a game with an occasional cheater than not play the game at all or have major flaws, inaccessible areas, inability to even log characters for days, constant loading screens etc etc. A small price to pay IMO. The whole cheater fiasco is made a bigger issue than it really is. I have seen games with much worse cheater problem than ESO. It sure is annoying, true, but I would be much more annoyed if I couldn't log my characters on at all because they would be stuck in a major city or other gamebreaking issue.

I don't know.. Maybe console players see it as the norm and don't care about it, but I certainly do. And regarding the cheater issue - it is ZoS own glitches and bugs that give me problems more than any cheat or bot ever has x10. Not saying it's OK to cheat, it never will be, but there are other huge issues to worry about instead of focusing on just one.

Facts are anyone on PC can use cheat engine easily.

I have never once seen a bot or anything worse than the mundus glitch on console.

Sony bricks consoles and accounts that have any form of mod. The average user has no way to be temped to evil, unlike our pc counterparts.

I plan on playing ESO on pc just for slightly nicer graphics, but all competition is a joke.

Here is the main problem, Even tho the game was mainly designed for the CYrodiil PVP Seige Warfare Endgame... they still used an engine designed for a PVE world and questing. Because of that the engine can;t handle big keep seiges or stand off in PVP. This is also something that GW2 suffers from. There really is nothing they can do to fix the lag in Crodiil. While the small scale fights in random places and the roaming group vs group fights can be fun, the big important sieges get fustrating when you cant move then end up dead.

Alot of us are just hanging in there and playing this while we wait for Camelot Unchained to be finished. It has a game engine built from the groun up just for massive PVP seige warfare. It will be a similiar 3way seige warfare game using Vikings / King Aurthur / Irish Celts . It also uses actual lore, legends, and mythology. Think Cyrodiil but 3X larger with the only safe area as each sides capital cities at each corner of the map. All leveling comes from PVP or helping in seige warfare (no PVE progression or questing) but the world will be full of pve creatures for crafing materials. Each will have its own races and classes (30) classes so far and a crafter class that makes all gear in the game and builds all structures like keeps. the fight isnt just over the lands but the resources in the lands for crafting.

4690k is a Haswell, high end one from the i5 range too, and in gaming Skylake or Haswell has no significant difference whatsoever. Benchmarking shows only 5% increase at best, sometimes not even that. The main difference between Skylake and Haswell is that Skylake supports up to 64GB of ram whereas Haswell only 32GB, that's about it, neither which affects gaming in any way as there is no game in existence that uses near that much RAM. It is something that content creators, 3d image/video makers will only benefit from, not gamers.

Yeah Haswell and Skylake are two equally good intel cores, that's as much as I know.

Now compare that to a Vishera... AMD FX series... It's absolutely GARBAGE! Vishera cores at the same clock speed give 30-60fps less performance in CPU benchmarking compared to Haswell or Skylake.

Your core performance is the number 1 determination of how good your build will run ESO.
