im new to pvp and from what i understand everyone wears impen armor and focuses on reducing crit damage, so is crit chance still important or shouldni completely ignore it and go max stam weapon damage?

also what is a good spot for weapon damage max stam and crit chance for a stam DK?

Good question how about a rough half and half? Not everyone runs impenetrable on armor and crit resist in CP but yet some do this is my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.

Loads of people don't run impen, so it's not completely useless, but you will notice quite easily which people are running impen. So if you're looking to 1vX or just pug around you'll be fine, but if you want to get into like, dueling or super high-end competitive PvP you may find it not as helpful to focus on crit.

thnx guys for the answers yes they helped. I also want to know what would be a good spot(balance of max stam and weapon damage)

You don't have to balance them, you can go all out on weapon damage and have the average max stamina depending on your set choice/attributes, because all of your stamina abilities will be scaled up to whatever is higher, max stam or weapon damage... so you're best going for weapon damage, and obviously if you're lacking regen then enchant your jewelry or something.

Well a good setup for a stamina build is 32-3500 weapon damage unbuffered with 35k stamina and 2k recovery unless your a red guard you can run less recovery.

Gankers often run full divines. They either instakill you, or get rekt by you.

No it's useful, even if people run a lot of impen, depending on your class and cp you crits will still hits 20-30% harder than your normal attacks if the enemy is a crit resist cap, usually people around and are around 30-40%~.

Most nb's run 175% crit dmg without even trying and have aeround 40-50% crit so you notice the extra dmg.

And those people who still refuse to use impen... well you notice when you crit them. 9k+ SA are no joke

@Anhedonie I don't get it! Why do gankers use full divines but don't use twice born star? I mean think about it twice born star plus divines plus the extra mundus would give huge benefit.

Because most gankers are nb's, so they have a 100% crit hit from cloak so they go higher dmg set up and full divines for the shadow

Crit chance is definitely worth it especially when you use healing abilities that are stamina based (Vigor/Rally) the more crit you have the higher the chance it'll crit which gives you extra healing. A lot of players run impen rather than divines (depending on the class) to reduce the effectiveness of all the crit builds in PvP which is a lot. I run 3 Impen myself with 31 into crit resist.

A good crit is 35%+ for a stam DK IMO but in PvP that 35% is my main bar (2h) and my second bar is 50.8% (using camo hunter so it'll be 40.8%). On my bow bar I keep Vigor so it'll crit more often and I keep take flight there too so I can crit more often.

I don't think critical chance is useless. On my nb, i have about a 1.87x crit modifier. With 7 impen and 15% (40ish points) into crit reduction cp, i'm still looking at 1.45x crit modifier. My critical hit's are still going to hit hard. So the more critical chance i have, generally means the more chances i have to do 1.45x damage which is valuable. Not to mention you will critically heal more often with more critical chance.

Often the argument brought up is critical damage/chance is useless because of Shields being none-crit-able. Once those shields are down though.. if i crit i can do some serious damage.

There is a tipping point where going into too much critical chance will equal less damage compared to raw base line damage. This is the only thing you need to worry about.

I personally use duel daggers in pvp and do very well. Also, one thing to remember, it's not always about the build.. it's about how you use it ;) .

From a damage perspective, impen makes it an all in or nothing proposition. You can reach almost 205% crit damage, and the only way get near that in negation is with transmutation.

For some reason 3300 crit resistance rings a bell. With full impen you are looking at maybe 2000-2300.

I've been hearing 3300 crit resistance is the cap. 3300 crit resistance equals 50% which is the base modifier to crit damage. A crit resistance cap is hard to believe though since you can build crit damage so high.

I've already done some calculations to maximize your crit damage / potenail crit resistance here if you would like to see the information. https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/3154232/#Comment_3154232

    Full Impen is 2000 with 8 traits (including shield). 2000 Impen = 30.3% , 7 traits = 1750 Impen = 26.5%
