I only just looked at the price for the new DLC. 1500 Crowns for Shadows of the Hist DLC..It's 1500 Crowns...

Wut?

It's 2 dungeons. That's it.

I was expecting it to be 500 - 1000 Crowns. 1500 is a joke when you compare the amount of content and how TG and BD are only 500 Crowns more for 10x the amount of content. Yes it adds a couple of new Monster sets and armor sets, but 1500 crowns? Really?

I'm sorry if this has been brought up before but I didn't know and was really caught off guard by the price.

When it comes to this type of thing I think replay and overall value added is higher in a dungeon pack than a small quest DLC.

I mean, hews bane and gold coast can be completed in what 4-5 hours total? Not withstanding the limit of dailies.

They added some features, but it was mostly just another starter island with smallish quests.

This is effectively 4 dungeons, new sets, which increase playtime significantly.

That and this includes racial passives and rerolls, so they are going to of course charge more on something they know more people will buy.

A bit underhanded maybe, but profitable for sure.

I thought the racial passives and re-rolls was one time purchases only though? So you can't really combine that into the package you are getting for 1500 crowns. I'd ask how much story content is in those dungeons?

To be honest the same thing of 'replay and overall value' could be said about the Trial added with TG and both sets of Daily quests in TG and DB.

I dunno, maybe I'm odd but I found that 1,500 seemed a bit much for what you get out of it.

And Racial passives and rerolls are Base Game patch, not to do with DLC I don't think.

Yeah they are, I'm sorry that my wording was confusing.

I was saying that its included in the work needed to be done for this patch, not that you had to buy the DLC for the racials. I see that could be misconstrued there.

I'm not arguing against the cost, I think it may be a bit high too, but I'll buy it because I absolutely love dungeons

I'm always serious, except when I'm not. Then I'm seriously nuts...

However, for 1k extra crowns getting extra stuff on top of the dungeons could mean the dungeons themselves are cheaper. A bit of extra stuff, but cheaper DLC. So you could get a bit more bang for your buck

But if you don't want any of that (how can you even say no to a Haj Mota pet?) then yeah...

I do need to get a set of nice robes for my Magika Nightblade though. Any suggestions for costumes? She's a tall, red-headed Nord and drop dead. Kinda like me, only really, really not!

Hmm.. interesting. I like it! Do you know it's name?

Since I'm creating under my name Daelon Duluc tonight, I guess, rather than Nord she'll be a High Elf. Thanks for the thought! Still tall, buxom red head, but...

Sorry but the maths already done on this one. A 5500 Crown pack is $39.95 which equates to $10.90 US for the DLC. That's all.... You can run and loot these dungeons all you want then. That's even less than a one month sub and you have crowns left over to spend on that new mount that was 4k crowns..... Mounts are more than the DLC by the way.....

    IT'S CHEAP.....

The price is fine. I quess that quantity of content is at question. You will probably get more consistent bang for your buck in dungeons than you would in Thieves guild. But there you get a new city and zone. Is there a new zone or city associated with the Hist DLC?

Entirely too much considering what we got for the same price for IC and Wrothgar. Both are MUCH more than a couple of group dungeons. I won't be buying this scam.

I also consider Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood also outrageously overpriced for what you get. With a crown sale they MAY be worthwhile.

10x the content? Hardly... I mean, if you were speaking about Wrothgar, I'd agree with you. But TG and DB are each finished within a few hours playing. I have no reason whatsoever to go back to either zone. Yet I'm doing Maw of Lorkhaj regularly, as I guess I'll be doing with the new dungeons. The replayability value of the dungeons is much higher than tiny zones like Hew's Bane and the Gold Coast.

That said, I can't believe they're now releasing "zone-less dungeons" as DLC... I seriously doubt I'd ever buy them, but as a subscriber I get access to them anyway.

Another game which I shall not name just had an update,it's F2P and 100% free with a few limitations.
    • New group veteran dungeon
    • 2 new solo dungeons
    • 10 vs 10 BG
    • Flying Zones to the whole open world
    • Account wide wardrobe with 72 slots
    • Class adjustments to every single class
    • Increased difficulty for existing dungeons
    • And a ton of convenience aspects

That's free to play, and the fairest I have seen of any game in that model. I don't know how they make money giving stuff basically free. And this isn't the first free expansion. I feel glad to call this mmo one that I play on the side. ESO is a better game to me if you takeaway all the bugs and stuff but I question some of their monetary control.

If you're into end-game group content, then these new dungeons are juicy must-haves. I haven't played around with the Dark Brotherhood stuff at all. Boring brain-dead-easy single-player questing? Meh. Two proper vet group dungeons are worth far more than all the stupid delves, public dungeons, and soloable world bosses in the last 3 DLCs put together.

But if you're into that kind of thing--zones, delves, stories, etc., then yes, this DLC isn't for you, and isn't worth it. For me, this is the first new 4-man content in almost a year, so hell yes, it's worth it.
