I had a bug with volatile armor in maelstrom today (ping / lagg make it not register?)

I applied it and ftc read it as active buff.
But I could'nt see the spikes on my back, and when I pressed "c" for character stats, I didnt had the armor buffs on me either. This happend maybe half of the time I applied volatile armor buff for DK skills. This is the one giving major ward and major resolve buff.
Can it be if I apply it while lagg or high ping, that game doesnt notice me activating the buff or something? I also noticed this with my dmg. Like my dots doesnt apply or something.
