Greetings everyone,

We were all expecting this barbershop with impatience! Very soon, a lot of new styles will be available for our enjoyment! New haircuts (beard, adornments, makeup, eyelashes etc) will be sold in the Crown Store. Once purchased, they are available through the collection tab, and can be equipped at will, exactly like a costume, a personality or a hat!
It will not be needed to purchase a Appearance Coupon to change hairstyle. However, you will need one if you want to change haircolor!

I see they added an assortment of Manbunns . Very dashing but a little too hard for this old one to pull off . Whilest sneaking the constant blowing up at Khajiit's eyebrows to remove hair from vision must be very unpleasant . Manbunn maybe helps those super fashionable Khajiit's ....

Most of the new hairstyles are....well....awful. I keep wondering who the designer is and if they have ever looked at the numerous threads that have appeared here discussing what people hoped for.

Not only that but there is no new facial hair for khajiits and there is a HUGE lack of choices on adornments, also there is too little new hairstyles.

And it would be so easy to see how good hairstyles can be done - Second Life has a whole lot of very talented hairstylists for virtual world hairstyles - tens of thousands of different styles for all purposes from the top brands alone. And if ZOS cannot do it on their own, they could ask one of those to create a hairstyle line for them - of course they would have to toss out a reasonable amount of money, but they would get qualíty. It took these developers as well quite some time, to develop their ability to create top hair styles and make their business into a top brand - doing hairstyles right is not done by someone, who has never really done this before nor had to stand their ground and succeed against massive concurrence - those top brands in Second Life had to stand their ground and came out on top - there is the source for designers, who can actually do the job.

I thought one or two of the hairstyles look okay-ish, and the same with one or two of the Khajiit markings. But that Long Patriarch Beard just doesn't look right - kind of stuck on. What a shame. I was looking forward for some proper, no nonsense beardy massiveness (sic) for one of my characters. Maybe it will look better on a clothed character?

Or that, yes, there are some very talented people as well in that community. My point with Second Life was as well, that those who have top brands there had to compete against a lot of other creators in one of the most brutal marketplaces ever created - who can come out on top in Second Life and run a big brand, has proven to create highly competitive stuff which appeals to a lot of residents and is high quality.

I understand that part of the reason they don't give us the hair we'd really like to have is because animating it and rendering it for all those characters might contribute to the whole game lagging out worse than Cyrodiil with all those huge zerg balls. I get that this is an actual consideration in addition to the clipping issues that would arise anywhere the hair might touch the body. But there's really no reason they can't give us hair swept back from the face that just falls down the back as the couple "long" hairstyles we have now do. There are just so many BETTER hairstyles they could have gone with, even with the limitations imposed "because MMO" that I am utterly baffled by the choices we've been given.

No, not really, because the animation of flexible hair does not happen on the server, but on the client machine and is performed on the streaming units of the GPU - so everyone could use or not use this feature, dependent on his/her graphic card. But modern graphic cards are powerful enough to run a huge amount of such calculations at acceptable frame rates. On Nvidia cards it would even run on physX and be even less of a performance issue.

But I was not even talking about flexible hair - but normal mesh hair, like it is in ESO - it just needs a better styling.

I think the hairstyles are gorgeous for the most part, and the video is entirely awesome. Editing is perfect, and I like the way it's kept silent and on purpose, with a chillout background music.

Keep up the amazing work, @Elloa, and thank you.

To me there is one somewhat acceptable sassy hairstyle in it - one - and I have 11 characters - they want to be different. I need far more options. By far more. Well to be fair, there is one as well for my male characters, which I deem acceptable.

Edit: and just to be clear, this is not about the quality of Elloa's video. She does great and informative videos, no doubt about that.

    Thanks for the video Elloa.

I would have liked them to just add all this stuff to the "character creation section" that you get and then you just pay to access this again to change your character. Anytime you felt you really needed to change how your character looks you could then pay to go back to the character creation again.

The hairstyles have not been specifically male or female it's the same thing for both.

Hair looks like a terrible wig and beards look like fake Santa Clause beards made from cotton wool.

    All a bit *meh*

My problem is that my Crowns keep mounting up (yes I still have not un-subbed) and there is nothing worth spending them on.

Lets face it, this game is just becoming one big micro-transaction site. Even the next DLC seems like a micro-transaction as it is only 2 dungeons.

Sorry for the rant, it's over now...none of this is directed at Elloa

Well, if you want to change your appearance completely, (or just the color of your hair), you can purchase a coupon and remake your character.
As we do not know the prices, its a bit hard to say what system is the best for players. But overall I think the system they imagined is more flexible for players. Let's say someone that ONLY has Khajiit characters might want 2 or 3 haircuts and change them at will, rather than having to pay something obviously more expensive to have access to a lot of options he doesn't need to.

To be blunt, there are exactly two (human) hair styles that look acceptable (Windhelm Weavenet and something Bard). The beard options just look utterly horrible.
