Watched a person on twitch yesterday, run down another player on horse back, through sprint mechanics. The said person was playing as a Orc as well. Btw, I'm not suggesting the player was cheating, as i know nothing about the mechanics.
Said person was on twitch again today. Obviously the bans or false positives are not effecting all players.

I had read lag spikes/latency may be triggering the anti cheat system. Everything else seems to be too varied with no common element. Had been hating the fact I haven't built a new pc to play(i play Xbox) but now not hating it as much....

As i commented earlier in some other forums that you guys should avoid going to cyrodiil till ZO$ fix this issue the Cheats/hacks.
    #RIP PVP.
    EDIT:
Also, dont give a single $$$ to ZO$, till they fix this game.

I wasn't even in Cyro. Nor were several others who had this happen.

i was in Cyro the day before it happened, but not on the day though. But i'm really at a loss, i'm more inclined it happened in Cyro now because it was lagging as heck and when you combine the speed of stamsorcs, expedition pots with gapcloser and lag - everything might happen. Maybe a delayed suspension though I don't know at this point what to think.

I've only been in cyro ONCE recently and went straight to sewers to famr Water for potions in the Base. My char is like AR rank 1 or 2 and I saw NO ONE on my way - only in the base.

Given past history, I doubt that the bans are automatically done. I think there is a ZOS employee pushing the button, at the end. This means that the bans are done in batches and likely cover several days of activity.

Unless we have been grossly mislead by liars and cheats in the forums, the ZOS detection is not that finely tuned, and they would know this. They would be foolish to issue suspensions to people without atleast reviewing them, even if the plan is to compensate the false positives on appeal.

    Er, it IS automated. lol.

The thingy flags you, you get booted and then cannot log in then OVER AN HOUR LATER you get a mail about it.

Thing is, I don't think that your friend was reported by somebody. They could have been, but considering the variety of complaints from various people it seems like their anti-cheat system has gone into an odd overdrive. I've read multiple complaints of people getting banned for speed hacking vMA, a solo instance. Others instantly kicked while trying to do DB quests. People banned from running around in Cyro.

It's really puzzling, and I really wish ZoS would have responded again in regards to the technical side of it before closing the thread. =\

That really sucks though that so many people were hit with a 72hr ban over the weekend.

They likely will Monday sometimes, with the suspensions ending Monday Night but I've printed ALL the forum pages to PDFs and I will DEFINITELY be in contact with A Lot Of People on Monday.

Really sucks that you got the ban though (if you truly, TRULY didn't cheat). When the hate gets this high people can go on witch hunts.

Yay for sub-optimal builds from a fellow Magtemplar Khajiit!

Everyone is then unbanned after a few days or from appealing. That's it.

If this is true ESO is doomed to die. So i rather hope they make the bans for proven cheaters permanent now.

Omg. Look how MANY people this has happened to!

Do you REALLY THINK we all would wreck our accounts, some since BETA to blade of Woe people, or pick flower or whatever BS faster?

    Really?

Look, i'm a Mom of 3 little kids, I play because i'm not a fan of watching TV whilst my husband games in evenings.

I'm not gonna go learn to speed hack ffs.

So ridiculous the DRAMAAAAA and the like belief that 3x threads of people have DONE THIS!!!

Most (I know for sure not one as he said so!) of us Have Not done any hacking at all!

These were automated most likely, because where i was I doubt I passed more than 2 players sprinting on MOUNTS and going the other way!

I was pressing W and using twisting path now and then and kill people with Blade of Woe.

    That is all.

So stop tarring US ALL with that brush, please.

This HAS HAPPENED BEFORE 2 different times now when LOADS OF ACCIDENTAL auto suspensions happened!

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/82435/zos-should-imediately-lift-every-suspension-ban there's one i could be bothered to find.

Believe it or Not the Almighty ZOS CAN make mistakes.

As they tweak the system that will find the real cheaters there will be causalities of the cheating war as much as that sucks if there was no cheating send some pm's to the dev team put in ticket if you still have forum access , if you were doing no wrong you will be back in game, as I understand 3 days suspensions are while they investigate.

We have but 3 day suspension with no recourse over a weekend is BS.

If it happened to you I doubt you'd be so understanding.

You do know they dont watch gameplay. They monitored the interaction between your computer and their servers, what code is being sent, and determined it that way.

I still doubt that it is automated from detection through to a 72 hour suspension without a human involved. If the "punishment" was a simple disconnection from the server, I could see that being fully automated.

While we will probably never know, this fits the pattern of a human task to analyze log files to identify speed hackers and issue suspensions.

Of course, just because a human is involved does not mean there won't be any mistakes, especially if the human takes the report at face value, or if the evidence is faulty. Depending on how many accounts are flagged, it might take quite a while to verify them before suspensions are issued.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom please pass this bit of IT computing 101 to your game director.

I guess zos has learned a valuable lesson this year.

    1. Security should always be baked into information technology at the beginning of the application lifecycle not at the end or as an afterthought. Certainly shouldn't have cut corners and or have waited until it affects your bottom dollar.

    2. You never deploy a new application or IT computing technology resource on a Friday unless you have the resources to troubleshoot or maintain over a weekend. Who thought that was a good idea?

    3. Always thoroughly test your applications in a dev environment first before pushing to production. Better seriously test for false positives before it affects your customer base. What do you think would happen to Amazon, Microsoft or a big name company if they screwed up? Loss revenue and stock drop. Just because your a smaller company doesn't mean you won't be affected the same way alienating your customer base and damaging what little rep you have.

    4. This new security program business model = guilty until proven innocent. Need I say more?

I love this game. But this company needs to get its act together. It's always the same thing. Problems with bugs, lags, and cheats. As a community I think we've been patient enough. It's been two fracken years. Game director promotes over 7 million copies sold. This number doesn't mean anything if zos can't fix the issues. My guess is zos is paying back debt and doesn't have the programming talent nor the money to adequately address these problems. If they did this stuff would have been fixed a long time ago.

So where do we go from here Jessica? Do we wait another 2 years? Good luck. Another game will come along learn from zos horrible manage by crises knee jerk reaction business model and do things right.

Congrats you have gone down the same road as ea's warhammer and funcoms age of conan. 2 games that were suppose to crush WoW and be the biggest thing for years to come. However, do to cheats,Poor performance, and bugs those games died when better stuff came along. EA shut its servers down and AoC is on life support with a small niche dying community.

It's sad because eso is a good game but it is apparent zos just doesn't have the money, talent, or business model to make it great. So we just get strung along with more of the same. Every quarter you dazzle us with new content but you ignore game breaking bugs. You go on this crusade to balance classes but end up mucking things up and making things more unbalanced. We keep getting told the lag is being fixed but what we get is a bandaid fix of vicious death set to spread people out. What we want is the software game engine to be recoded/updated to directly fix the problem. Or better backend hardware to handle peak loads. We want cheats out of the game but not at the expense of law abiding citizens. Why is this too much too ask?

    I guess I just don't understand.

Imo it was enabled on a Friday so they can evaluate how the detection changes work out over the weekend without dealing with false positive support tickets since 72 hours are over on Monday/Tuesday anyway.

Being banned for cheating is fine and necessary and I really appreciate that ZOS is working on anti cheat solutions but they better show some respect and react fast when it hits false positives.

    Hello ESO community,

I am not here to discuss the ban itself, just want to state how it got to this.
This concerns the speedhacking, which I asure you hasn't been done. But obviously people that know nothing about being an Orc in medium armor felt the need to report and ZOS finds an Orc in medium armor plus all passives as being speed hacking....I mean....eh?

I find this very disturbing and if this keeps going, we all could get reported and banned for using legit racial passives and mechanics. I think this is dangerous and I am interested in your opinion...?!

HUMPHIE <3!!!!!! Don't feel bad you're not alone! I got banned too, yesterday. Same reason. Also have NEVER cheated. RIP ESO for the weekend ;(

I sent a ticket in and they replied with the same automated garbage stating that they "Carefully reviewed my account" and that they cannot overturn the suspension. TY so much ZOS!

Legacy. If you were a Khajiit I would adopt you and name a resource after you.

I logged in this morning went to Cryo fiddled about and made the decision to come back next month and see where this game stands. I will continue my eso plus but I have no more faith in how matters are being handled. I might at best stick out the remaining two days in the campaign.

and EP you need to learn your role . That role is to manage the DC Mutts. Yes they are mutts. Illegitimate offspring from reachmen and drunk elves.

This friday patch and the indifference displayed is appalling. And before anyone makes a smarmy comment I play clean, I have no mount speeds maxed. I am slow as molasses in January. If you are AD then you know my screen name is my character name I am on TF NA PC. I spam de healz and adopt pet khajiits.

poof I don't even have rapids I saved that point for Guard. I like Stalwart guard it is sparkly and when put on another healer it is the cats whiskers.

and my gear is green except for my resto staff it is white. I found it in a barrel and it was free.
