I am starting to see why people want player housing.

All this console lag in the major cities, especially in Orsinium on consoles is starting to justify player housing. Somewhere I can go to hide out and never have to return to this horrible lag again. Hopefully the player housing comes with guild traders and other main city necessities. I am willing to buy them in the crown store if it means I never have to return to a major city again. The Cyrodil plague has entered the capitals.

Sadly lag isn't always crowd-induced, save NPC crowds. The less there is to an immediate area the less you'll lag.

Calling it now. How much you wanna bet player housing will be done via crown store just like barber shop. Crown caption will say something like the following:

"For 10,000 crowns you too can own your own slice of heaven! Just click your heals 3 times and you will be transported to your own private instance!"

And of course there will be a cool crown graphic of a village with elf looking maids and or an Orc strolling about.

I can agree with this. I've been the only person around for miles and yet it becomes choppy.

OP I'd love a housing concept similar to skyrim's concept. The towns/cities will become void of the players you see now crowding the crafting stations. It could be a good thing but also a bad thing as well. I'm genuinely curious about what their plans are though... hell I could get lost in a fallout style of housing/settlement but I doubt that'll ever happen.

Player housing should be for in game gold. PERIOD. However, housing decor, now thats another story.

Why would anyone want their own crafting stations when you still need to travel to specific forges to make armor sets?

Edit: I just want to add that they need to fix the lag, not give people their own stations to make cities a ghost town. I like the liveliness of the big cities.

Who cares, its just going to be a waste of money/crowns, who the heck wants to sit in a box while playing a game....boringgggg.

When I am done playing for the day I just want to log off as fast as I can... dont need no stinking house/box/4 walls whatever.

.... I'm pretty sure that people who 'imagine' if it's gonna be via cash shop or not have never played any MMORPG.
Heck, even teh free ones are heavily P2W oriented, they should've have learned by now that the Devs are not their school buddies, they're part of a company. with bills. and annoying bosses.

    They need profit.
Either you pay the subs or crown store stuff, or you'll start seeing Lose Weight advertisements when you log in

I recall my house in Morrowind. It was stacked floor to ceiling, wall to wall with weapons and armor. Alleviating my backpack/encumbrance would be my main use/hope for housing but having crafting stations where I could decon garbage loot and perhaps even a place to display trophies and the like would be nice as well. The DLCs for Skyrim had some nice features as well, including a garden where one could grow alchemy reagents, etc. I have high hopes for some innovative developer ideas in this regard. There's certainly plenty of room for it. Hopefully there will be room for all of my old loot as well...

I remember housing in EQ2. I had one and liked having it and crafting housing items, and I liked the usability of it in terms of the marketplace.

I would need something similar to that model to have it make sense to me in this game.

I was thinking it be more like 1000 Crowns for a single floor, one bedroom and a trophy room. 2500 Crowns gets you two floors, one bedroom, a trophy room, and a storage room. 5000 Crowns gets you two floors, basement, trophy room, storage room, and two bedrooms. 10,000 Crowns gets you a guild hall with three floors, basement, guild trophy room, storage room, in-house Bartender, and a Wayshrine. If you bought lower housing, and want to upgrade it then pays the difference.

Trophy Room - Automatically displays objects based on your achievements page.
Storage Room - A large ornate chest, functions exactly like a banker but doesn't move or talk to you.
Basement - Every crafting stations all together.
    Bedrooms - RP people know.

I imagine it will be as part of a DLC bundle that includes some other stuff as well. So we'll have to buy the DLC to get access to housing, which will then probably involve an in-game quest and cost some gold. And ESO+ subscribers will have access to it (but lose their house if they fail to pay rent lol).

I don't care how much housing costs as long as there is a "Sandboxy" feel to it. Manikins to display actual in game armor drops, plaques for weapons. The ability to "build" expasions to your house, like an alchemy lab or enchanter station. Dig a cellar for a smithy etc etc.

If player housing ever becomes a thing, there are some features that I would NOT want to see in them...

    Banks
    Crafting stations
    Vendors
    Resources

Unpopular, I'm sure. But cities should not lose the feeling of community, of the hustle and bustle that give such locations its feel.

Housing should be just that: a place to call your own, to decorate as you wish but in the end, less a gameplay feature than a side game.

However if ZOS decides to go the neighbourhood route, as in EQ and LOTRO, then I would fully get behind having a town square with my exceptions above.

The garrisons killed WoW, or least was the the final nail in the board, for me. I sure hope it's not like that.

I also didn't care for it much in LOTRO, it was cool to see other peoples houses, but when I would go there it would just be me usually. I would only be cool with LOTRO's version if maybe with phasing or something there would always be people there.

You didn't like the free gold? I started that expansion with like 10k gold, by the end of 2015 I hit my first million gold, already close to 2 million right now. It was the only thing that allowed me to buy 30 WoW tokens and have my game paid off until September 2018! I found garrisons to be the most awesome thing added to the game... okay minus the fact it made everywhere else a ghost town.

Yes let us repeat the horrible failute of Warlords of Draenor and make Garrison 2.0 system so we can create a world void of players where everyone is just standing around inside their house not having to go anywhere for anything except dungeons and Cyrodiil.

Please think before you make suggestions. Enough people proposing *** ideas like this and they will get implemented.
