Sorcerers Overload Dark Brotherhood

PS4: Has anyone else noticed that the sorcerers overload is not doing as much damage as it did before Dark Brotherhood? I haven't done anything to my sorcerer since DB released. My overload used to hit for about 40K crit light attacks and now it's only doing about 32k crits with Molag Kena proc'ed.

Am I missing something here?

    Yes, that's true. It deals far less damage than it used to.

    Is this a Nerf, bug or maybe other changes caused this? I don't recall seeing anything in the patch notes about this.

    Maybe a stealth nerf. The fact that the crystal fragment procs deal 20% more damage was also a stealth buff in 1.6, this is a big change and was not in the patchnotes.

    In the tooltip it says, "doesn't deal as much bonus damage" for the magicka return one. Is this what we are experiencing? I know the tooltip has said that forever, but maybe they,actually made it apply?

    So a stealth nerf that's really a, "now working as intended" ?

    You should, shields are too short. Hardened ward should be at least 8 seconds.

    We also have the worst heal mechanics of all classes. It depends on a crit and returns a pittance. It depends on a DOT that we can't leave on players. Dark deal is a full one second channel, which is horrible. I fought a dude trying to shield and dark deal his health back, while I animation cancelled a healing ward and kept the pressure up weaving. It didn't work for him and it never ever will.

    It needs to be /fixed.

    On topic; I stopped using overload in PVP and became a better player. I also started doing more damage in pledges. Overload is a terrible, slow, boring, dodge able, reflectable skill.

    Edit: why couldn't they make the animation for this ultimate like a chain lightning? Make it something fun, like an AOE strike with less overall damage, shorter range, but requires some skill to line up on multiple targets in a rough straight line? Remember, we just lost daw breaker of smiting.

    I've gotten used to the new changes. They aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be. While I agree ward should have a slightly longer duration, it's still usable for those oh crap! moments and is cheaper than healing ward and annulment.

    Power surge seems fine to me running liquid lighting and blockade (I don't play PVP much on a sorc, so I can't comment on that) with the occasional ward going out for when you're really low on health. I agree the heal was fine before and didn't need to be changed. However, I feel the heal will be fine with a slight adjustment on their end.

    Overload was something I used to burn a boss down quickly and match the damage of other classes. I love running the normal pledges solo and now with this change boss fights are taking longer which tells me the classes overall damage has been reduced.

    The sorc wasn't top gun to begin with, was it? So, reducing his only ultimate worth a damn for a sorc's top DPS is absurd to me.

    They fixed thaumaturge. If i good remember thaumaturge bug was also increasing overload dmg in Theives Guild update. But dont worry overload spam is stronger then it was thx for Elegant set, wear it and check it. Here You have example from YT. Movie is maked after DB release

    I think he is not even using an optimal dps build. With boundless storm, we could increase his damage and drop magicka detonation. For bosses that it

    Power overload only gives you a bigger AOE heavy attack Cinn.

    The two morphs should do the same damage with light attacks.

    I noticed a decrease in damage as well. Can we get answers to this and revert back to before DB DLC?

    This can't be the reason. I never put any points in thaumaturge. I feel like they may have raised the resistances on some things? I noticed playing banished cells my overload was hitting the same on the daedroth boss but other bosses it hits for much less.

    Also, how does this guy get overload to hit for 54k? I have the elegant set (3 jewelry arcane, and 2 swords, 5 julianos) and mine will hit for 44k at the most with molag kena proc'ed. It basically just brings overload back to the state it was at.

    Any ideas?

    Edit: I don't think he is running the elegant set after looking closer. His overload was hitting for 54k because he uses spectral explosion in the beginning of the fight. During the rest of the fight he was getting crits as high as 36k. Which is still lower than what it used to hit for. Also, his back bar looks like a maelstrom dagger and axe. Which could work with liquid lighting and blockade.

    Yeah, I saw that and edited my post. I was trying to point out that it is not hitting harder than ever with the elegant set. If anything it hits for 2k more damage on "some" mobs. Which I feel is not worth it considering how expensive the set is. Just my two cents.

    20% should make a significant difference.
    Keep in mind, Daedroths have 0 resistance and always take 100% of the damage.
