Vet Maelstrom Sets, worth holding on to?

Basic question: Is it worth keeping any of the sets that drop from vMA?

I have a magic sorc and don't see Succession as worth it compared to other sets, but am not sure whether any of the other sets are good for other classes/stam builds, as I will likely have stam characters later that could use them if so. Any opinions?

Most of the sets that drop from Maelstrom Arena are of mixed/limited value.

Hunt Leader - Has some fun utility for stam sorcs, but is limited in scope and usability due to the lack of pets. It can buff Morkuldin, Infernal Maw and sorc pets.

Succession - The rotating damage is too unreliable for DPS, and there are much better sets out there. Good for a light Force Pulse buff, but not much else. Fun concept, but limited in utility.

Para Bellum - Has some decent utility for PVP, but the shield is nerfed due to battle leveling. The biggest problem is the 5 piece buff is only good out of combat. Once engaged in battle it's gone in 1-2 hits. Fun in concept, but too limited to be of any real value. There are far, far better sets out there.

Permafrost - Has some interesting usage for a magicka tank, especially in PVP. Not too bad depending on your build/group dynamic.

Winterborn - Basically a poor man's Nerien'eth. A fun set, but the cooldown on the ice pillars seems somewhat low. The set doesn't state what the cooldown chance is but it seems to be about 6- 8 seconds. Nerien'eth procs far, far more often and does much more damage.

Glorious Defender - Not a bad set. Can stack well with Armor Master and Shuffle to increase dodge chance quite a bit.

My Decon station loves them.
I'd say none is worth it for PvE. For PvP, I don't know.

I bank em. Then use the traits as free research on my crafter. If i cant research it i sell or decon.

Winterborn seems to be the only decent set. Permafrost would work with my tank's build theme, but there are options that are just plain better.

I'm keeping the best pieces on a mule because stuff changes and they are hard to get. If ice staffs were ever improved, Winterborn might be really good. And the Hunt set might be useful for a ranger class if we ever get a stamina pet line.

Glorious Defender can sometimes pair well with a Tava's Favor build if you put Jewelry with 2pcs (I suggest hand and foot) and then craft your tavas from Leg, Belt, Chest Sword and Shield. Then use Bloodspawn as your 2pc helm and shoulders.

hunt leader also procs off NB shadows, and possibly the warewold direwolves (althoug i dont have a full set to test that theory)

It does, yes. The wolves in WW form are a great way to regen stamina for more WW damage.
