How Long Can I Be Out Of Vet Maelstrom Before It Resets?

If I leave vet Maelstrom mid-level, on round 3 or 4, how long can I stay outside before it resets to round 1 of that level?
Does it also start this timer if I leave the arena but stay inside the larger Maelstrom area (aka near the wayshrine), or does it ONLY reset if I completely exit out of it and go into Wrothgar?

5 minutes by my count, I went and completely changed gears and mundus stones once. I was gone less than 5 minutes no loss of progress.0 -

Is this 5 minutes only when you leave and go into Wrothgar(or outside areas0? Or does this timer start if you wayshrine after dying in a round and stay near the wayshrine and not re-enter through the portal?

XaXa✭✭✭✭If you wayshrine out after dying you are safe and dont have to worry about it resetting. It is still considered being inside the dungeon. Its when you leave to go outside to wrothgar (or wherever) that the timer starts.
Id say its roughly 5 minutes before you need to get back in.0
