Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if at higher levels I can continue to wear the armour/ weapon styles i want or would that just "gimp" me?

So far I have been able to craft leather armour for my character (fur themed barbarian looking armour) from 1 - 40 and due to the stats etc at these levels just being "gives x stamina or x magicka" I can just slap a stamina enchant on it and I am good to go. However, it just dawned to me that at high levels obviously armour doesnt just give "x stamin" they have set bonuses etc.. So will I eventually have to stop looking the way i want to adopt the OTT spikes from every nook and cranny leaving a trail of fairy dust type armour? I am assume as there is no proper "wardrobe" system I will HAVE to wear these armour sets/ styles as there is no way to duplicate their effects onto crafted armour of my chosen style?

If this is the case then I wish I figured this out first as I don't think im willing to go from looking like some badass barbarian to some skull helmet lightning belt gold dust shoe spike lord that all games force you to look like xD

Thank you!

You don't have to wear the high level armor sets, you can actually craft your own high level armor with the desired style, like your barbarian-looking armor. All's you gotta do is look at guides/YouTube videos/ask on the forums when it comes to choosing the "right" build for the job, or the right direction at least, like if you're wanting to be a Stamina damage dealer in PvE, rather than a tank/healer/magicka damage dealer etc and then look at the different types of craftable sets and locations to then eventually craft your desired high level set, with whatever style you want and have, unless you know a trustworthy friend who'll make it for you, of course.

If I were you, I'd start researching traits on all types of armors and weapons, as much as you can, if you haven't already.

Oh, and don't worry about getting gold armor, epic (purple) is enough for mostly all content, but gold weapons (for extra damage) is advised.

Depends on what you want to do. If you are aiming for #1 leaderboard spots, you don't have complete fexibillity about how you look. But if you want to just do vet dungeons and normal modes of trials you can basicly use whatever style you want.

Ah okay, brilliant! Thank you for the hasty response! :) This gives me the hope I needed to continue to look like a blood thirsty rage beast. So just to confirm any of the craftable item sets can be crafted in any armour style etc?

There are also cosmetic costumes that you can wear over your armor. I'm a big fan of all the thief looking costumes so that it doesn't matter what armor type or style I'm wearing, my character still looks like a sneaky Khajiit thief.

The only pieces you need to upgrade to Legendary are weapons and the 4 top Infused trait armors: Chest, Leggings, Helm, and Shield. Upgrading the other 4 smaller pieces is minimal at best unless you want to squeeze every last drop out of set bonuses or Divines trait, even then it may not be worth the upgrade.

At the moment there are over 20 different armour styles one can craft (Khajiit, Dunmer, Primal, Daedric, Malacath, etc) and more are coming so there's a lot of flexibility there.

Bear in mind that due to armour passives and Champion Poin allocation, magicka users benefit greatly from at least 5 armour pieces being Light Armour, and Stamina users from Medium Armour. But in the end if you find a balance that works for you, you should be fine in almost any circunstance except veteran trials.

There are a few fan websites available via Google where you can preview what the different styles look like on all 3 armour weights (light, medium, heavy).

Oh, this is completely off topic now to the original question but I thought I may aswell ask here instead of opening a new thread. The last time I played molten weapons used to increase heavy attack damage by 40% and increase damage by 150% on targets at low health.. of course it doesnt do this now and instead the 40% heavy attack damage is a morph and just gives major sorcery.. is this still worth getting for a 2h stam DK.. seems like a MASSIVE and horrible "nerf" to me hehe

I really don't know to be honest, I mainly play a Templar  but major sorcery? isn't that spell damage/magicka-related? you definitely don't want that if you're using a 2H Sword and stamina attacks etc :p so, while it's still cheap (it will remain cheap for a few more days I think) reset your skills or morphs at one of the shrines in your faction's major city, and choose all the morphs that make sense to you, like Stamina-related and weapon damage/weapon critical-related.
