Fighting Limenauruus was never really a problem for me. Usually I would just stick behind him with my flanking set and wail on him with wrecking blow until my stamina bar was gone, until a big group wandered into the room.
First off, when there are basically a thousand AoE's going off at the same time, it makes the game lag a bit. Just a little, teeny tiny bit. Okay, it's a lot. It lags a lot. And I'm on PS4, its not my PC specs or anything that are causing the problem, its just that the PS4 cannot handle all of those particles going off at once, and when it lags, well, I die without even knowing what killed me.
Second off, when it lags, it tends to, well, turn the red circles of Limenauruus' AoE's into absolutely nothing. No indicator or anything. One minute I'll be full health, and then the next minute, I'm dead after being one shot by an invisible shadow pool that deals 18k damage?! Are you kidding me?
Third off, the damage. Obviously. I get that he's a world boss and he's meant to be taken on by a big group of people, but he's honestly tougher with a group of 10 people than 5, because its impossible to see where his AoE's are dropping otherwise. And they stack. The AoE's stack. Why do they stack? Who knows. Got rubble falling on your head? Oh, infinite stunlock because you're out of stamina, eh? Well here's another rubble fall. Dead. You're dead. He's way harder to fight melee than he is as an archer, or a sorcerer.
Fourth off, why the artificial difficulty? Half the time I die, I die to the two dozen shadows that spawn into the arena. When there are healers in my group, I still die, because when 5 people are shooting arrows and spells at you all at once that deal 3k damage a piece, well, you're dead pretty quick.Unless you take all focus off the boss when you're only fighting alongside 3 or 4 other players, you're going to die to the shadows. And, well, when you take focus off the boss, he's more than likely to charge at you out of nowhere because he loses taunt when he goes to charge.
And last off, although rare, sometimes, just sometimes, he freezes mid-charge. The red circle remains however, and walking anywhere within it will cause the damage from his onslaught to stack on you multiple time, basically killing you from him just standing there.
And so, Akatosh revealed himself to a young Gaben, and granted him purpose.
"Grant them Steam sales," he commanded.
And obey, he did.
