Are we going to be able to ''preview'' any changes we may or may not want to make to hair, look, etc? Or is this going to be a "Here is what we have, take it or leave it, pick one and go.'' type of thing?

I would imagine we will get a new 'Barber Shop' UI where we can see how the various hairstyles and tattoos will look before we purchase... kinda similar to the dying system I would guess.

The way it sounds, you'll probably buy the token first. Then use the token to open up the customizer, whether it be race change, name change, or barbershop. From there the token will probably disappear from your inventory or account once you accept the changes. Maybe you can back out without accepting and keep your token. This is all speculation, but it seems like the most obvious and probably the easiest way to implement.

That will most likely be the case.

I would test it out on the PTS before buying the token on live, just in case I don't like what is offered.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Yeah, it would be nice if the token gave us a window of time to make changes as opposed to just a one-time thing. What looks good in character creation doesn't often look good in game. Sadly, I'm sure it will be one and done. It would actually be nice if there was like a character creation area, similar to Hircine's Grounds or the vampire area which is separate from the regular game where you can test run your character before committing to changes.

What I would love is you get a free character bound token. usable on that character only, given the moment that character gets to level 50 and/or complete the main quest line at 100%.

People usually completing either are most likely to keep their character so they get a one use only chance to redo their appearance if they messed up and ended up not liking it.

Then any additional ones , you have to pay.

I'm pretty sure the token will give you access to the full character customization screen again with the addition of unlocking premium items.

Thus a preview is inherent here.
