What's the best way to get gold crafting mats?

Hello all

With the DB update I need to craft a new pair of swords with sharpened trait instead of nirnhorned.

I currently lack the gold mats for two swords and was wondering what is the best way to acquire them.

Should I be running around hews bane or something farming raw material and refining it? Should I sell that raw material and purchase the gold mats outright?

How do you all go about acquiring your mats as efficiently as possible?
Please if you say that you buy them I would appreciate if you can tell me what you are selling or doing to get the money

Crafting writs will net you a few per week if you do them every day. Other than that, it's just like you said...harvest a ton of raw mats and either refine them and hope for the best, or sell them and buy the tempers. Prices are ridiculous right now though. Might want to hold off a couple weeks if you're going that route.

Crafting writs and refining raw materials. As you can only do one writ per craft per character per day, it would be quicker to go and gather the raw materials for refining.

Don't know about selling the raw material and buying the tempers as I have never done that

Have 8 max characters and do a months worth of writs on all them.

Accept the fact that unless you have a ton of resources at your disposal(gold, mats, crafting), it will take a you a while to get what you really want.

If you refine 100-200 or so of any raw material, you will usually get at least one gold out of it. On the other hand, during the time it takes you to gather those mats there are other activities you can do to earn gold faster

Get on the vMA, trials and top 2% pvp leaderboards on 8-12 characters every week then decon all the crap "rewards" you get

Just refine any ore no matter what level. In the past I've gotten more gold mats from iron then anything else. In pvp just north of fort aleswell there is a camp with npcs there is about 4 heavy sacks and I usually get stacks of 10 mats from them each and on a decent respawn. I've also found wrofgar to be good for nodes especially near where you make julianos

Best way to get anything is to know how to make some coin.

Grind nSO or sewers and sell the loot and TV stones.
Or do some trading (shop through the vendors, buy heavily underpriced, yet valuable and popular goods and re-sell for normal price)

Easy gold right there, can't really get any more easier.

With decent playtime, 1mil per day should be doable considering you can do like 10 runs of nSO within three hours and farm 150k TV in a day that you can sell for 800mil.

It's all about figuring out the optimal path that saves you from the grind, unless you really like ramming through brick walls head first.

Leave the surveys in their box, until you have enough time to do them.

I seem to get way more tempering alloys when refining ore than wax when I deco scraps for some reason; I have all te passives.

Also Op you get wax etc for refining lower level mats from lower zones, so don't disregard them!

If you're going to go the harvesting route, Craglorn has an amazing density of nodes, and it's pretty much a ghost town these days.

What you're saying seems a bit unrealistic. How does 150k Tel Var equal 800 million gold??? Am I missing something?
Unless pc somehow has billions of spare gold.

Refine lots of mats and complete writs. They come pretty slowly and cost lots of gold

OR....

Wait until ZOS inevitably slips up again, and recieve thousands of every gold crafting material through the next exploit. Pretty worth a three day suspension imo. Upgrade everything you could ever want to gold and have multiple stacks of mats to spare.

The easiest way is to purchased those in the guild stores, if you have the gold. Lowest price so far I've seen are in the ShadowscaleofBlackMarsh and the AFK. Well, the shadowscale was in Stormhold, but you can still get what you need in AFK at the wayrest outlaw refuge. I saw those on sale as a bundle so you should get all the mats you need. Otherwise, yes, it will take time and effort to harvest and refine.
