Are they not raising the CP cap in the update? Has ZOS announced that?

Please don't raise CP cap, we need to reach the 501 first.

And from I saw so far, not so many people are 501+

While there are a bunch on my Guild Rosters that are 501+, the vast majority of members in all of my Guilds, and even those that I come across in my travels, are under the Cap.

    IDC what they do, TBH.

I've seen several 501+ myself. I have nothing against once of those small increases we've heard about. A 24-point increase for instance would not hurt...

If they are going to increase the cap, I would say it needs to be a little more significant than that.

Many people who are already above the cap have ~60-100 points of play (some with way more)

If they were to increase soon, I would propose 51.

17 more in each tree and a 10% boost to what it is now. This would allow ZoS to recalculate the "bell curve" and speed up progress for newer player.

Anything less would have too little of an impact in my opinion.

No point to raise cap if the whole majority of players are not 501.

Well it was stated that CP Cap increases would be small yet quarterly and while I can understand people wanting a huge leap to make up for all the increases never given I doubt they would do that.

My PVP guilds seem to be almost full of 501 plus now that we can see what people are in the roster... My social guild I was surprised only around 10-15 are at 501 plus.

I just wonder if ZOS takes into account the number of people who just play socially, who don't intend on/care to work on getting their character to the cap. Also if they consider the high number of alt accounts that are in game who have no need for CP, just there as personal banks.

I mean if they are looking at increasing the cap when x% is maxed, they need to remove some accounts from consideration.

There is a difference between "many players" at cap and 'hundreds of thousands if not millions' who are NOT currently at cap. Heck, I've been playing for over a year now with thousands of hours in the game, and have yet to reach 501... this is the problem with being an altaholic. ;)

they should have monthly new gears content, as sort of progession like WoW. instead of just buffing yourself up with loads of CP, thats just lame.

Whithout new challenging content or severely updated actual content, there is no point in increasing the cap. Game is cheese now.

My roommate who rarely plays is sitting at 420 champion points. I'm not quite sure what ZOS is waiting for. There will always be new players and will always be players that play for a couple hours a MONTH. But even if you're casual (whats causal like 5 to 15 hours a week?) I can't imagine you aren't climbing up that CP rank.

I'm sitting just under 700. I'd very much enjoy a 100 point CP lift.

They didn't raise the CP cap since Orsinium (which was like 6-7+ months ago?) and till the next patch (which probably comes in 2 months) it definitely won't be increased. For a new player with this new catch-up CP earning system it takes only a few weeks to be on 300-400CP which is enough to not be too bad. I still think that we are playing an MMO where continuous progression matters and being stuck on 501CP for more than a half year doesn't feel like that my characters are stronger day by day at all. Though we got some better sets each patch which is acceptable but I'd also like to get 50 or 100 new CP with every big patch. (every 3-4 months)

There is one big problem with being able to spend only 501 CP is that every time I go to PvP I have to change my CP setups; every time I go to PvE trials the same. even for different trials! (for example for vSO we need a lot of poison resistance and for vMoL we have to put more in the magic damage reduction to survive.) I have two solutions to solve this:
1.: Increase the CP cap so we will be able to spend CP everywhere and then there will be no problem switching between different contents.
2.: Give us at least two CP templates which I could just load in with one click. (or very least remove the 3k gold every time we respec CP!)

Ready to get downvoted into Oblivion but I completely disagree. There needs to be an established endgame. They should increase the CP only every once in a while, not create an endless grind for CP. The CP should not be raised just because you have been PVE'ing every day and have a ton of CP to blow. It's not only new players that suffer from a high CP, but also casual players who become useless in any CP PVP campaign and unwanted in any PVE group.

If I had played smart I would be well past the 501 cap. But noooooo, I just had to keep making alts, and then deleting some of them and making new ones, and wasting all that time I could have used more wisely. So I just have 474 CP's lol. And I have been playing the entire time on PC lol. Ughhh, I'm a mess...

Apparently they say the average player is the sort to play for a couple weeks or a month on and off when new content is released, so by some secret inhouse estimates I've completely made up we'll see a cap increase twenty years from now after dlcs have been dissolved in favor of quarterly cosmetic releases

Well. They focus on the casual player who comes back every few months for 2 or 3 weeks. No wonder the CP cap hasn't been increased since its introduction.

And I also suspect they don't know how to deal with the power gain from increasing the cap.
I played with around 700 CPs before the cap was introduced and the difference in stats and everything else was quite significant.

Plenty of people at cap think the games difficulty should be aimed at them with a cap of 501.

The irony is that, if they're going to raise the CP cap, they need to introduce more difficult content--not just group dungeons but also solo stuff that needs a stronger character to be done.

Instead, they're planning on flattening the difficulty across the board.

This. CP system was an awful idea to begin with, and the best way to handle it short of doing away with it entirely is to cap it and keep it capped. If the cap was to be raised, I would expect the difficulty level of ALL the endgame content (for example, trials and dungeons) to rise with it. The content right now, maybe with the exception of MA and a dungeon or two is flat out easy with max CP. Coming from an individual with max CP, please do not raise the cap. SO used to be a very difficult trial, now any old PUG group with decent CP can beat it on a first run through. I have no problem with MUCH of the game catering to a casual player, and since they are the majority, I believe a lot of the core game content should remain doable. Some challenging aspects, however, should be present in an MMO. The CP system simply doesn't allow for this. A rise in CP only means making the game easier and grindier. Nobody needs that.

Raising the cap would unbalance the game and trivialize content even more, leading to the 501+ epeeners (I'm over cap but don't consider myself part of that club) then complaining about how easy everything is. They should do more minor tweaks via gear enhancement, possibly jewelry making, and multiple CP profiles.
