What do you love about this game?

Landscape, architecture and the overall graphical art in the game is what fascinates me the most. i know that there are games, which are more realistic, but I like the art style in ESO more - it is not too real and not too artificial - and it has awesome sound design as well with a love for details. And of course the 10 basic races of Tamriel, which are so familiar, even they are different in ESO than in former TES games in their racial abilities. I love that the game has voice acting where a lot are done by famous actors. And I was surprised to hear Malukah's voice as a bard in the Wayrest inn. A lot of NPC comments are quite funny or even philosophical, I like this touch as well. Things like "If you want to loose 10 lbs of ugly fat, I'd be happy to chop off your head" or "I like to eat sweet rolls and to crush skulls ... and I am out of sweet rolls", little things which make me smile or simple truth like "Diplomacy is the art of lying for your alliance" or when I try to sneak around a guard and am too near to him, and he just looks at me and says "If you would know, how ridiculous you look right now" - that makes me laugh.

Some days i can log in and Jump into pvp for hours I love it the PVP in this game to me, is very unique, some days it's just not there for me though. Then there's days when i'm like "Time for a new adventure" in which i usually just habitually rob Riften safeboxes for cash or run through New content that i'd been holding back *omg those murder contracts though i didn't sleep last night xD* i don't play through all the questing very often i play it alot like i used to play skyrim I'll Jump in get the quest get half way there then see something out the corner of my eye and i'm like "yah i gotta check that out" Climbing *or trying anyway* everything looking for unexplored things then I Dive into the Dungeon push through and after i kill the boss my initial quest is lost with me. the next couple hours i'm just Drifting in tamriel doing random things. Those murder contracts had me like Woe though!

I think i just love eso because it IS eso. It may not be "on par" or whatever for lore freaks because "the maps a bit different" or "this didn't happen in this Era" but Just walk around Tamriel for a Day. fast travel to all the zones and just walk around for a few minutes. There's so many Different Landscapes in this game. different "personas" in the NPCs actions

Actually they're just having one of those dreams but it's virtual reality and dreams are real in VR.

Hard to name it all, it's just what the OP and others have already said, the graphics, the sound, the character customization, the immersion, the storylines, the incredible voice actors, great dialogues, fascinating small details and astonishing surprises in the most unlikely places, and the overall Elder Scrolls feel. And the way you can try different playstyles, and the way you can play with friends, or with strangers, or solo when you feel like it. And I love the controls in this game, and the two small and efficient combat panels that can be toggled, not thirty skills at once that eat up half the screen. And even PVP, though I'm really terrible at it, but sometimes it's so refreshing! Oh, and the fishing for your quieter moments. ))

I've always enjoyed the setting and lore of the Elder Scrolls, but the thing that really hooked me regarding the game was the crafting system. I loved the fact that you could actually craft gear that was worth wearing and not have to raid extensively to maybe get a decent piece of armor or weapon. Being able to deconstruct items, the different motifs, and the ease of gathering materials are just bonus features to me.

The solo play. Much more fun than other MMOs I've tried out. I guess an extension of that would be the quests, the voice acting, and constantly running into familiar faces (Raz, Darien, ect.)

I love the game itself but.... there are a lot of problems with it at the same time. Also wish they had gone a little more traditional mmo with it too. Text chat, buff timers, ect.

Playin' for some months, ESO plus subscriber now and pretty happy about the game... Here are my 2 nuyens:
- immersion: i do not agree with players sayin' that this is not a TES game... It is. It obviously had to make some compromises, but it is actually a full immersion free roaming experience with lots of details and things to take care of.

- Music: top notch. Awesome.

- Character customisation: even if there will obviously be better choices than other, I feel like you can easily create your own beast with a bit of attention.


This is not a rant post, but I'd like to point out the things I'd change/add:
- console chat (it's gonna be added soon, so fair enough );
- faster level up possibilities;
- the ability to purchase a single character at a certain level after you've completed the game at least once.
- I'd create a way to skip main story quests with alt chars... It's the only downside of multichar creation.

Not sure if that is really part of the game in the way you intended to ask the question though. In that regard, anything positive I have to say isn't really applicable anymore but this isn't the thread to discuss that.

Were the game to go, it's the people I would remember and what I'd miss the most.

I agree with all of the positive points stated in this thread thus far.

A special mention also goes to the Legacy of Baelborne Rock quest line which is, from a narrative and emotional standpoint, one of the most poignant quests I'd ever played in any MMO (particularly when finishing it with the "good" ending).

Old-school Fantasy, very excited about Conan Exiles too, its fun to see Old-School is still alive. I love IC, moving monsters, occasional PVP, random chest, risk and reward, scamps, etc. Wish the entire game was designed like that, also I hope the spawns was more different. We need IC2.

I love the fact that you can solo group pvp duo every time you log in. I love the graphics it is without a doubt the best looking MMO I have played (and yes I have played FF ARR and BDO) The game and world has soul, and that is severely lacking in MMo's there are no idiotic pop culture references. The quest are fun, the armor looks incredible.


The constant stream of content doesn't hurt either

Both proud and ashamed to admit that my guild is the only thing that's kept me in ESO. It's getting better, and we're headed in the right direction. But I cannot honestly say that would have stayed in ESO definitively, were it not for my guild.

I dig the different locales the game offers. One area from the next has something different to offer besides just a change in scenery. Specific mobs might be found in an area but not another , certain areas are better for farming than others for certain materials etc.

Quests for the most part are fun and achievable. I'll like it better and plan on returning once zone restrictions are a thing of the past. There's lots to like yet still lots to fix. Seems like things are moving forward in a positive way.
