The Combat System feels clunkier than ever, am I the only one who's experiencing this?

After farming vMA this week I began to notice how clunky the combat is feeling since DB, it really does cause issues in what's already the games hardest content and I'd love to know if there's a fix. I've tried lowering all settings (the game then runs at 90fps+), tried resetting my router, cleaned my CPU and GPU cooler and speed tested my internet during these periods of clunkiness however the same problems persist with no sign of an issue on my end. I know my internet is half decent and stable at 38mb download /10mb upload with 33ms ping to the east of Germany from north England yet I struggle to achieve 90ms ping in TES:O.

Problems I've experienced in vMA this week:
  • Destruction Staff heavy attack sticking in animation and rotating the character towards it's last target, usually I have to dodge roll to break from it using much needed stamina.
  • Delay activating and deactivating Ultimate which feels close to 1 second and sometimes just outright not responding, this can spell death under high pressure situations.
  • Delay with periods of no response when weapon swapping, another problem that can easily cause death as I'm essentially locked out from my defense bar at times.
  • Damage being applied before enemy attack and environmental AOE animations are complete.
  • On occasion the Sorcerer ultimate Overload activates and performs the light attack animation as normal however no bolts are fired nor does it deplete ultimate.
  • The game at times lags hard with enemies tearing across the screen and at points the game can just stop responding (please see below for an example, it isn't my video).

My build as a sorcerer relies on overload to gain magika so I swap onto overload for a few hits in most fights in the arena, when It doesn't activate and I'm out of magika because I use the Kena set as intended, I die. I've had a lot of bad beats this week simply because the game doesn't respond in the way that it should and I find myself having to compensate for these unsettled periods by sacrificing a skill from my limited 5 skills to add a damage shield on my main bar just so i can stay alive.

It's not a L2P issue as I've completed the arena 10+ times now and have 5 weapons with a full set of each of the bound drops.

Any discussion on this is appreciated.

    I have experienced this "clunkiness", although in Cyrodiil, so I chalked it up to the infamous pvp-lag. It has gotten slightly worse since DB. I hope they can fix it during maintenance...

    No, it's a fact. Seems to be linked to the changes to animation prioritization they pushed through.
    Latest thing we know: They are working on it. Though we haven't heard anything about it for the past 2 or 3 weeks or so.
    Same as how movement speed loss (from Thieves guild update) is supposed to get fixed someday. But well, what else to expect?

    The animation prioritization ZoS included in the last patch muffed combat up real well. The animation cancelling we were all used to since birth has no changed, for the worse.

    Would like to see them revert this. Combat feels less fluent than it ever has. ZoS is one of the few game development companies I have seen that purposely make their game worse with every DLC.

    I am busy trying to complete vMA on my Magicka NB and am experiencing some of the issues you mentioned,

    Getting stuck with heavy destro attack,
    Healing ward not firing when key is pressed,
    Abilities just as laggy as hell,

    Dodgeroll doing very funny animations at times... lol...
    Kinda half a dodgeroll and then a sneak really frustrating..

    This was my thinking Wollust, i try and delay my inputs but I'm finding i have to wait a lot longer than the animation completing. I understand the reason for implementing the animation prioritization however it currently sucks =[

    It's somewhat reassuring to know I'm not alone here. The wards not equipping is a big issue especially during the Daedroth enraged phases of Stage 9. Let's hope the problem is officially recognized and a fix applied over the coming weeks.

    I personally noticed that in pvp poisons seem to 'eat' a cool down, and when trying to weave a light attack with a skill, the skill won't fire when a poison procs.

    i came here to write about this exactly! i'm glad im not the only one experiencing this... ZOS please FIX this issues... it's unplayable

    It was all working perfectly fine, then ZoS decides to 'fix' it anyway. They try once, its terribad on PTS, they dont move the changes to live and swear they wont touch it unless they have a solution theyre 100% satisfied with. Next DLC, they try it again. Its still terribad on PTS but they somehow already forgot what they promised the first time around and cram it into the live patch. And now we have this...
    P2P offered you 'hell yeah!' moments. F2P offers you 'thank god its over' moments.
