#@$% PVP! As much as I despise the crown store I would buy the Akaviri Motif in a heartbeat. I want my Samurai Flavor Armor nao!

Same here not even going to lie. Atm till race change nothing interests me in the crown shop I've got all of the good looking costumes, banker, merchant, non limited mounts, and have about 12 xp scrolls sitting in my bank collecting dust. The Akavirir Motif would be a sure fire way for ZOS to get me to buy another 5500 crown pack. After all since I no longer plays ESO for end content due to the hurtful RNG and toxic players, nothing else for me to do in ESO but enjoy just running around doing quests and solo non Maelstrom DLC content.

Because they have been chosen as the PvP-exclusive item so that PvPers have something to spend AP on or convert AP into gold.

(I think I've explained that already at some stage, LoL ;-) )

And your explanation is NOT adequate, as I have already explained...at many stages.

Want PvP sets, PvP or buy them etc... Just because they have been putting motifs in the crown store doesn't mean they have to put them all in the crownstore. It isn't unfair, you have multiple ways to aquire them. PvP or pay a PvPer to get them for you.

I don't care if it is or isn't. I think the style is ugly and won't be buying it anyway even though I do have the AP to purchase it.

Yah, I don't think you actually DO grasp it though. At all.

There's no rational excuse to lock this particular motif behind a pvp wall though, in any manner. Every other motif that dropped at that update has already been put into the crown shop. There's no reason to single this one out, no matter what your personal beliefs are on its aesthetics.

Well ZOS hasn't added it and I doubt that they flipped a coin to decide this, so there must be a reason, no matter your personal beliefs on its rationality.

Your only argument is that they have put the other motifs from that update in the store. In what way does this mean they have to or should put every motif they come out with in the store?

Maybe they want to give people something to spend AP on. Maybe they want to give PvPers a good way to make some money. I don't know. You seem to think that this isn't a valid reason and are keen to insult everyone that disagrees with you.

I have a friend who is all about completing his motifs, and wants Akaviri bad. I PvE and PvP and enjoy both, He's 90% PvE. I'm on console if that influences anything (like shopping guild traders for best price, lol). He knows he has to eventually get his hands dirty in some PvP or just buy them. I'm willing to help him out and so are the people in my guild. We'll get him there. It's just a long, long road as it is now.

    Compromise?
Recently, the monster helm vendor in Cyrodiil made the long road to some gear shorter for a lot of folks. You can buy the gear with AP or gold. Maybe adding Akaviri pages to these listings (which are random) for gold on weekends will help alleviate the problem, but not devalue them too much all at once in the guild trader market. Let them trickle in so things can adjust.

The irony is, I see more people in banks wearing Akaviri than people in Cyrodiil. I think the original ZOS intention may have been that PvPers would wear that armor as a sign of PvP accomplishments/ AP total. Player jealousy over esoteric appearance is a huge driving factor to do content, we all know. The dropped/monster set armors tend to limit the amount of crafted gear used in PvP anyways, and then a smaller percentage of those even have/use Akaviri. It has become more of a trophy motif for the average PvEr than PvPer - Imo, anyways, this is anecdotal - simply because a dedicated PvEr has a learning curve and most likely a gear change coming to compete in Cyrodiil (or loads of gold). Its more difficult for the PvE player to get.

Going back to my friend, ZOS has successfully coerced a PvE player into doing PvP. That's mission accomplished for them. I know of quite a few people who swore off PvP only to end up loving it. I hope it will click at some point and he'll love it. If it doesn't, he has to decide on an alternate method to PvPing his way to Akaviri.

I agree it's inconsistent to single out Akaviri as a motif in this way; the thing is, I think its a huge piece of bait to get PvErs to branch out to PvP, and that may be a considerable reason why ZOS keeps it.

    Finally an actual cogent argument.

I agree it IS inconsistent, as well as degrading, to single out one highly desired motif for this treatment. The compromise you proposed would actually suit me fine...but I'm STILL quite upset with how the ptb at ZoS did this. Glass took me a *** o change to get...then it was unceremoniously dropped into the crown shop. After losing gold on that deal, I said to myself 'well, at least Akaviri and Ancient Orc will be put there as well, so no need to waste my gold on them, when I have crowns taking up space doing nothing for me...I can use them'

...and then they ONLY put in the ORC.

Which is total bullcrap. What's worse is, no word at all from the devs on it. AT ALL.

It's one thing to make such a decision, even if it has no rational basis...but to ignore loyal customers, who have been duly paying a subscription since BEFORE opening day (pre-purchased), is beyond the pale.

    It's frankly, s****y.

You are claiming anyone who doesn't agree with you doesn't grasp what you are saying. You are essientially calling them ignorant. They do understand what you are trying to say, they just think this motif should be kept out of the crown store to provide an AP sink and a way for those who only like to PvP to have a good way to make money.

You are consistently being condescending and dismissive. That isn't how you have a constructive debate. There really isn't a right or wrong answer for this unless ZOS actually gives us the real reason they haven't put the motif in the store. We are all just speculating. I think it is fine that it isn't in the store. It provides incentive to PvP and provides PvPers with a good way to make money and an AP sink to spend their milllions of AP on.

Calling me dear, and telling me to read the thread is you being both condescending and insulting, because surely if someone could only read and understand what you wrote they would absolutely agree with you. Any point someone makes you dismiss because you have already decided that there is no logical reason for it not to be in the store. Some of the people have been insulting to you in this thread and that isn't okay either. You can tell people you disagree without consistently claiming that they are being illogical when your only argument is that the other motifs are in the crown store.

I'll say again my point. Just because they have put other motifs in the store doesn't mean they have to or should put all of them in if they have a reason to make it exclusive. PvPers have complained that they don't have ways of making good money. This gives them an oppurtunity to have an item (not a random lockbox that might have something good in it) they can spend surplus AP on and make some gold to fund the excessive potion consumption in PvP. PvP is an expensive habit if you are actually trying to be competitive.

I have a friend who reaally loves his Akaviri armor. He spent all his AP from the time he spent in PvP. When that ran dry because he is a PvE'er, he spent a laughable amount of time farming nodes. He sold temps, crux and maybe a bit of his soul when that armor came out.

So he got to use his AP, which until then, was mostly useless.
Players got more useful guild store items out of him because he needed to sell to make money.
And PvP'ers got the gold he turned around and spent on their overpriced Akaviri.

I don't think this motif coerced him into PvP at all. He plays a tank and doesn't care to change. But he did farm for hours. That's the kind of the grind a PvE player should expect- plucking flowers, ore, wood, etc... to get the best stuff.

So.. crown store Akaviri? The only players this would hurt are guys like him. And I think those players are my favorite. They put in the time. And when they get what they want? They make newbie level 10's training armor. In Akaviri style, of course.

And I've made my point too. Which is it would only be FAIR to put all of the motifs from that update in the shop, instead of singling ONE out for pvp exclusive content.

I'd be willing to bet your tune would be playing differently if they had reversed it, and put GLASS in for AP, and put AKAVIRI in the shop...in fact, I'd bet you'd be the one calling for fairplay, huh?

Try looking at it objectively, if that's even possible for you. I bet it's not.

Again, I might have agreed, if they hadn't put all the other motifs in the shop.

    But they did.

Think carefully, how would he react if instead of Akaviri, it was Glass that had become pvp exclusive....

Look at it from an objective standpoint. It's only fair that all motifs from that update get treated in the same fashion.

My tune wouldn't change. I don't care about special motifs. Half the time I still craft regular racial motifs because it doesn't matter to me. I have most of the rare ones, but I'm in no hurry to aquire them. Why would you assume that I'd be calling for fairplay? What have I said that made you think I cared about Glass? I don't even care about what happens to the Akaviri motiff. I'm as objective as can be. I neither want to buy it for myself, nor do I intend to buy it for others (except when I bout some to help a friend finish the collection).

I've only been trying to explain that PvP exclusivity for this motiff is good. It allows PvPers to have something to sell, provides an AP sink, and can encourage people to PvP. I think these pros outweigh what you consider to be unfair.

Don't try to guess how I'd feel in hypothetical situations and stop implying that because I don't agree with you I am biased. I have no stake in this debate. It matters not to me what happens to this motif.

Well, considering they just put the Alliance motifs in the Crown store for 5000 crowns each, if they put Akaviri up they would have to list it for at least 15000 crowns, if not more, considering the price differential in-game between the pages.

Meanwhile, I bought or earned all my full Akaviri at a rate of 80% AP and 20% gold, and I'm really happy about that. :-)

Except Glass cost the same as Akaviri does now, and was listed for 5k crowns.
