It can work, but you can't think of it as a burst heal. Think of it as part of a healing package. I have 20 in blessed, 20 in quick recovery and I can get some good heals out of my heal package but not DB. Here is your healing package.
cDB
- 20% health recovery
- 5% health recovery from elder dragon
- 8% healing received
- 12% healing received from burning heart
Powered Resto staff for 7% healing.
Healing package
- Powerlash
- Burning embers (amazing)
- Draw Essence
- Rapid Regen ( or mutagen)
Heavy Armor Healing
- Constitution +4% health recovery per piece equipped 20% at 5 pieces
- Rapid Mending +8% healing received
Total health recovery buffed = 45%
Total healing buffed = 35%
I also run drinks which adds health recovery, and I use spellpots because cDB is already boosting my health recovery. I run 3k spell damage and with all that spell power and healing combined my rapid regen alone is healing for 1k a tick (without malubeth or major mending). Put cDB and Burning Embers on your back bar for the powered buff on resto and rotate it on every enemy in range for a healing cascade. You can make cDB hit for over 8k while also using all our side healing to keep from dropping below half health. With all that health recovery and rapid regen going beside power lash and burning embers there is a whole lot of healing going on. If you malubeth it's even moar.
Basically you are taking all of our passives and instead of fighting them, you go with the flow, but you have to think about it as a total healing packaged rather than a single healing skill.
Note: I have been trying to test the powered trait on burning embers when you manually take the heal rather than let it time out and it appears to work, I could not get a good test on cDB because it's hard to get your health to stay in one place. So I assume here that it does work on cDB but I can't confirm that.
