Craglorn / Bangkorai Gate - Just for show?

I don't get it. Before I hit level 50, it made sense that I wasn't able to use the gate. But having started in the Daggerfall Covenant, and having reached level 50 long ago, AND having been to Craglorn already should make this gate accessable, no?
Will this gate be usable in future updates? If we can walk to Orsinium from the Daggerfall Covenant, Craglorn should be accessible too I would think. Especially with One Tamriel being in development.
If you really want to keep it shut for new players, you could always make a quest on the Craglorn side to open it up or something. Why have a gate if it's just for show?
