Thieves Guild Weapons are switched with Outlaw weapons !

Why did no one noticed this ? i know this is some time after Thieves Guild DLC went up but there was always something wrong for me with the looks of weapons going in style to armor. And by Akatosh i was right ! here is proof ! if anything you can always look up other pieces on ESO Fashion website..

So, i dont have all of the chapters yet, but the ones that i DO have, have written something that describes the other style. For example
If you read "Crafting Motiff 33: Thieves Guild Daggers" it says

The official Guild dagger is a double-edged stabbing weapon with a broad blade - almost a short sword. The flaring three-bladed Guild symbol at the hilt serves as crossguard"

and here it is. Matches the description perfectly. Except the fact that this is an Outlaw style dagger - not the Thieves Guild
Dagger.jpg

And here is the current Thieves Guild dagger that matches description of an Outlaw Dagger
Dagger_2.jpg

Next one. Lets take "Crafting Motiff 33: Thieves Guild Shields"
"Deciding to encumber oneself with a shield can be a difficult decision for a thief, so we allow a fair amount of variation in both shape and size: anything from a medium round shield up up to a full kite shield is acceptable. The Guild symbol should appear in the center on a (rather large) round boss"

Okay, so we have this described variation below
Round Shield and a Full Kite Shield. Again ! those shields are crafted with Outlaw Style
Round.jpgKite.jpg

And here is the current Thieves Guild Shield that matches the decription of an Outlaw Shield
Tower.jpg

As you can see, this is all wrong ! how something like this could be missed ?! the armors do not match with the weapons (and shield) What i suggest to actualy FIX this, and not to leave it be because "people already got their mottifs which they like" NO this is badly done. Please, kindly please, to developers and Game Masters, Fix this. No one will be angry, Make Thieves guild weapons to look like current Outlaw weapons and Outlaw weapons look like current Thieves guild weapons. I dont know how to caption popular GM's here, i have seen people do it but i dont know how. If anyone reads this, do it for me. Focus attention on this post. This is all important. Thank you.

They were mixed up before DB too and so they changed Outlaw to what it was meant to be which did not sit well with some by the way lol but if that fix has reverted back then they will have to fix it again...

Really ? so this must had been fixed before i started Thieves guild. If they fixed it back then, then i hope they will make it right now too.

People have already crafted items based on how they currently look. Switching the looks around would just cause too many problems. They made a similar mistake with Assassin's League vs. Outlaw swords being swapped, and that fix was quite unpopular.

They should just revise/swap the text of their motif chapters for consistency.

No, this is exactly my point !, how something like this can be left as it is ? the weapons from the same style don't match the armors from the same style. This is not how it is supposed to be. This i wrong, and everybody knows that. Besides, everyone is going to farm for every style anyways, and mats for both of those styles are easy tog et too. Don't exxegerate. People that do not want it to be fixed either forgot or dont want to understand basic concept of TES. I can't image this to be left alone. You can always craft new items. This is a game. Not a life choice. Fixing this is not bad and is needed Folks, this should happen. Dont let it lay as it is

People who spent legendary tempers would disagree with that rather short-sighted view.

It should be fixed, yes. But by swapping chapter texts, not by swapping actual in-game appearance.

If you're paying for my mats and tempers, sure. Otherwise please shut up about what "ought to be lore appropriate fixes" and leave well enough alone.

Maybe there could be done some patch serverwide lets say a week long, that would give you an option to convert to the other style you know ? just like it is with converting to imperial. Would you be able to agree on this option ? Or special NPC in some common place that would do this.

If anyone wants to know how a set looks, I would really recommend looking at this site http://www.the-elder-scrolls-by-mysticals.com or ESO Fashion before actually crafting and upgrading any gear.

I am against changing the appearance of gear once it is already in-game, I spend a reasonable amount of time deciding how I want my character's gear to look and a lot of money/(or mats that are worth a lot of money) upgrading and do not want it changed.

If anything needs to change, it is the text of the motif book, so that the written lore in ESO matches the appearance of already-crafted sets, not the other way around.

But your appearance does not have to look diffrent. It will be exactly the same. My point is, for example you would find your sword after one patch changed to Outlaw Visual look. With a convertion option you would be able to convert it back to the Thieves guild looks without loosing anything or having to craft anything a new

I'm with Harvall on this. It shouldn't have made it in game.

They won't do that though, they'll just change the way it looks and it will instantly change for everyone. It's happened before. They don't give options, so be careful what you wish for.

Well, i know what i wish for. And i um... you know, wish they would do it ? :P I know this will change weapon looks for everyone but this is how it should be. if ZOS screwed this they should at least try to repair mistakes and add this option to convert to Outlaw/Thieves guild for a week or two. Of course, that would enable any player to change any style weapon to Outlaw/Thieves Guild (or maybe they can do only those two styles convertable) but it is just a price they should pay for making it switched in the first place

Yep, would love to see this set rectified... it feels "incomplete" knowing that there's a weapon mixup in the sets.

Their dev team is just simply too superficial when adding new things into the game.
This is just an example what we have to put up with.

While I agree that this should have never have gotten implemented in the first place, I don't think it should be reverted at this point.
The best thing they can do is re-write the Motif text to reflect the actual look.

This should be fixed - but those shields need work anyway, they clip into my body even when I just stand idle, even worse when i am crouching. Then it cuts right through my head and into my hips - it is not well done, poor job from ZOS.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom please be so kind, to let your team look into this - well, not just into the shield, the whole thread I mean, the OP has a valid point.

They could just correct the problem right before they increase the max level for items. That way it won't be as painful as most people will be crafting new gear anyway.
